Have you seen the Sonic the Hedgehog movie yet? Share your thoughts!

After a tumultuous first reveal that led to weeks of disappointment, memes, and internet outcry, the Sonic the Hedgehog movie managed to revamp Sonic's design to look more like the character, which was a blessing to most peoples' eyes. Making sure Sonic actually looked Sonic-y, however, pushed the movie back from its original launch, out of 2019 and into 2020. Now, the time has finally come, and the film is finally available to see in theaters across the world. Have you seen it yet? Will you see it yet? Will it rival the likes of Detective Pikachu for acceptable family-friendly video game movie quality? Or will we be putting its Bluray on the shelf next to Super Mario Bros. (1993) and every Uwe Boll video game movie? Since it's launching (in the UK and USA) on Valentine's Day, are you treating your special someone to 99-minutes of Sonic-related hijinks? Let us know how you liked it!

I went to the first showing, it's the first movie I see in 2020 and it's unfortunate the film starts with a 'in case of quake, we'll refund you' it made me think people must still be pretty scared to go to the movies here because the place was dead.

I liked it, it was a good time. I got out of that place wanting to see a sequel. A part of me wishes Sonic had the cool personality from Sonic X or the earlier games, but I understand this hyperactive, never-shuts-up version is what appeals to kids nowadays.

This Sonic's lonely and you get it, the scene with the shoes was really nice.

The movie doesn't have a bull milking joke—

Please go see it, I want that sequel.

You know what comes next right? A game based off the movie. Just like Street Fighter The movie game. :creep:
Unfortunately there is a Streetfighter movie 1994, it stars Jean Claude Vandamme and I would say that’s the worst adaptation of a video game ever made!

I wonder why Jimmy Carrey ? Why dont they used someone else ? I have seen many famous celebrities being used in movies like this. I cannot care about the celebrities. I know they wants to use the famous celebrity for the profits and money. Whatever.

Anyway, I wont watch it in the movie theater. Never in the move theater because I dont liked the dark and costly which is ridiculous. I will wait until it is release for home use.

I know, I seen it, many times. :P

But there is worst, or did people forget Super Mario Bros already? Double Dragon? Mortal Kombat: Annihilation? :creep:
Sorry I thought you meant was there going to be a streetfighter film. Ha ha, you know just how really bad it is then! especially Van Dammes early acting days, erghhh!! :ohnoes:

I thought the first mortal kombat film was quite good.

I enjoyed it. Since it's a video game adaptation the bar is set pretty low, but even with that in mind it was fun. It sets up the universe quite well and opens the door to a sequel nicely, it's clearly a smaller part of a bigger whole. I hope it does well in the box office so that we can see how the rest of the story unfolds. The CGI was spotty at times, but I feel like Paramount utilised the budget quite well. A lot of things can go wrong in a live-action adaptation, but they've pulled it off.

I'm going tonight with my GF so I suppose it will be crowded as heck, I will go with low expectatives so I can give it a good chance, they sure at least deserve my ticket money because of the good decission they made about the design change.
Nothing beats watching the Sonic movie on Valentine's Day
