Alright, so I've been considering hacking my Switch, putting CFW, emulators and all that jazz on my Switch, but I've not done it because I don't want the thing to become unusable when it comes to online. I want to still be able to play Mario Kart 8 and Tetris online with my buddies, and also be able to flop over to a Wii emulator to play Mario Galaxy or something, you know? Anyway, is there any CFW that won't make it to where I cant play online without getting my console banned or should I get a separate switch so I have one unhacked switch and one hacked switch? (which I'm 99% sure I wouldn't do.)
I don't have a spare SD card for my switch with enough memory for this right now anyway, so it'd have to be something I deal with later, but I'd still like to know if there's a CFW that still allows me to play online without getting beaned. Thanks!

emuMMC and emuNAND work great, but the downside is that you have to reboot between the two types of uses (nintendo online and homebrew) so you won't get beaned.

If you only want to play emulators and nothing else, Lakka is an option. Or android or Linux, and these don't carry a ban risk because they don't connect to Nintendo servers and do not have access to your prodinfo or cert

Dont get excited about Wii emulation
From what I know, Wii and GameCube emulation work pretty much flawlessly, at least for most of the games I want to play on it, but bigger games like the Metroid Prime games probably wouldn't run as well as stuff like Paper Mario TTYD, but otherwise at least from what it seems it can emulate the stuff pretty decently most of the time.

For some people Dolphin’s performance is “acceptable”, but it’s very far from flawless.

Wii emulation is acceptable on Switch but definitely not where you're probably hoping it will be. Additionally, there is a very fine line between being safe versus being banned, and you're playing with fire if you want to try modding without a ban. You would probably want to just decide which is more important to you, online or homebrew.

The other thing you could try if you have money to spend is to buy another switch (tablet only.) A friend of mine got one for $100 and just used his same dock and joy-cons on the old and the new one. This might be a solution if you are sure that you want both.
