Ubisoft fiscal report shows that Beyond Good & Evil 2 and Skull & Bones won't launch this year
If you thought you might see the release of Beyond Good & Evil 2 anytime soon, then don't get your hopes up. Ubisoft's latest earnings call shows that we won't see the game completed until at minimum the next fiscal year. Five AAA games will be released by the company in the coming fiscal year, which kicks off in April, consisting of Gods & Monsters, Rainbox Six Quarantine, Watch Dogs: Legion and two unannounced titles. CEO Yves Guillemot stated that Beyond Good & Evil 2 won't be part of the lineup released this year, while the pirate game Skull & Bones has been confirmed for release in the fiscal year of 2021-2022.
In that same fiscal report, Ubisoft's performance this quarter was considerably underwhelming, due to the critical reception of Ghost Recon: Breakpoint and the massive delays Ubisoft initiated for their games, in order to release better quality titles. The company brought in $456.86 million dollars in the previous three-month quarter, which was down by 26% from last year. Guillemot is confident that despite the tough climate of 2020 AAA games releasing this year, Ubisoft's lineup in 2020 will stand out.
