Netflix's animated adaptation of Konami's classic title Castlevania returns for a third season! Written by Warren Ellis and produced by Adi Shankar (who is also working on quite a few video game adaptaitons), the series first aired in 2017 and follows the story of Trevor Belmont as he goes on a vampire hunt against the notorious Dracula in Wallachia. The show has since gained popularity, and has even been hailed as one of the best video game-to-TV adaptations out there.

Netflix has now officially revealed the airing date for the third season via a tweet and promises "more mystery, murder, mayhem, and vampires than ever":

Will you be tuning in on March 5th to join Trevor & co. in their vampire-hunting business?

if anyone has seen this show i have no idea why they would continue it. It had a conclusive ending already.

Because money, of course.

Edit: To be fair, Dracula "dies" at the end of most of them but is always brought back somehow. Thats like asking how could they keep the series going after the conclusive ending of the first game.

Personally I think it would be cool if they skipped to the future and adapt Aria of Sorrow.

Kind of hoping they'd pick up with another Belmont and game, but I guess they can do more with Trevor. >.>
There's still a shit-ton more history regarding Trevor they can pull stuff from.
There's still the immediate follow-up to Dracula's Curse, which is Curse of Darkness (PS2), set after the events of CV3.
If they really want to go above and beyond, they can even tie his story directly with Symphony of the Night to end Trevor's and continue Alucard's, but I guess that would require having Richter's story first before jumping into that, but that would be one hell of a leap in story, bypassing quite a few Belmonts until we get to Richter, since Richter was the very last Belmont known before the Belmont clan disappeared, and resurfaced with Julius all the way up to the 1990's, which is where Dracula met his final demise.

I'm far from an expert on that, but isn't Trevor more of a side character moving forward? I thought Curse of Darkness was about Hector. (Haven't played any of those specific ones in years.)

It is.
Hector becomes the focus of Curse of Darkness, but there's a lot of backstory regarding Trevor up to that point, they could easily shift at a point in Season 3 to make a swift transition.
