Right now, whats the point of hacking the DSi? besides installing Twilight and customizing the system, what I can do with Memory Pit that I can't with an simple R4?
I use some homebrews and emulator in R4 and all work fine, and I dont mind opening the R4 everytime

Isn't TWiLight Menu++ already enough?! Before TWL++ I always considered the DSi to be a DS-Lite without GBA slot but with a useless crappy camera, a flashcart block list and a defunct shop.
- All your games – including GBA – in one GUI
- Dumping the DSi NAND with homebrew for use in emulator
- Save battery without an R4
- How about DSiWare? I know of no R4 that can do this
Also R4's cost money (multiple times, if you get a timebombed one), but most people are likely to have an SD card lying around
Edit: Also, the better network capabilities in games, and potentially in homebrew.

What are the DSiWares and homebrews that worth downloading right now? I enjoyed Flipnote back in the day but I already have it in my DS
For me, Cave Story and UNO, although they aren't exclusives.
Colors! is a nice art tool, it was later made into an official 3DS title. I also enjoy DSCraft, ApertureScienceDS, and PocketPhysics.
Although, I don't know of any major DSi homebrew, outside of utilities/loaders like TWLMenu++, GM9i, etc
hi all, I am using atmosphere with hekate and wondered if anyone knows how to join promoted den raid battles? I assume the listings haven't updated since I dare not go online to update wild area and can't seem to see the stamp on my hacked switch of my promoted den on my unhacked switch. Any ideas?

Oh f* someone get me out of this, got a friend's dsi to mod and was following a youtube tutorial everything was going smooth, but i got stuck where i should select the TWiLight Menu++ from unlaunch menu, mine doesn't have it at all! This was after the nand back up > HiyaCFW_Helper...
then annoyed i formatted the SD card and also factory reseted the console, but for my surprise the unlaunch remains..,
How do i definitely mod this, i can't hand it over in this state and can't risk bricking it.
Help me.

What tool did you use to format the SD card, and did you format it to FAT or FAT32?
ok i somehow manage to boot into twilight but in a unusual way: going to dsi camera and instead of the homebrew it opens the twilight...
how to make twilight the default boot? my unlaunch doesn't show it in the options list.
however it doesnt boot any games, all i get is a bootstrap screen and then a white screen.

i recently put twilightmenu++ on a old 3ds but when ever i launch it the screen flicks black and then white for a sec before going into the sleep mode. anyone know why this is happening?

Can you start other DS software (DS games carts, DS Download Play, DS Internet Settings)? If no DS software works at all, first try TWLFix-CFW.

Yeah, I'll second Cave Story...if you have a DSi or DSi XL, it looks great on that screen.
Anything by Circle Entertainment is worth at least looking at...they did a series of arcade-y / platform-y / action-y kind of games for the DSi shop that may contain a few gems for you. Look up the G.G. series.

Hi guys, i just bought a DSi XL and i have a question. Tonight I'm going to install Unlaunch, TW++ and CFW etc. but do you recommend also buying a Flashcard like R4i Gold 3DS Plus? I'm going to use it for DS, GBA and SNES games primary with probably some minor times of playing Genesis. 
I think for a card because as i read i think emulation and hacking are still not perfect and a secondary variant to run games can give me more flexibility if something doesn't run good.

Depends on your preferences. TWiLight Menu++ and nds-bootstrap have become so very, very good that I hardly use my flashcarts for playing anymore (on flashcarts cheats work a little better and there is RTS and they are really useful for quickly loading hardware testing apps on unmodified consoles).Hi guys, i just bought a DSi XL and i have a question. Playing SNES games on the DS(i) is something I tried once. The emulator is unfinished, buggy and the DS(i) has a too low resolution. SNES on (new) 2|3DS is sooooo much better.
- For DS games TWL++ is near to perfect now.
- GBARunner2 has been improved A LOT as well. If you don't use a SLOT-2 cart on a DS-{Lite|Phat) this is the method of choice.
- I don't know if there are differences in compatibility when comparing GBARunner2 on flashcart with GBARunner2 from TWL++ Maybe @alexander1970 knows?
- If you are not satisfied with the results you can get the R4i Gold 3DS Plus later (very good idea anyway if you have or plan to buy a 2|3DS)

i always use(ed) the arm9 Release for my Flashcards.
But as @KleinesSinchen already explained,the GBARunner has improved very much so actual I think there are no more significant Differences.
If you use TWiLight as Kernel Replace on your Flashcard there is no need to "tinker" around with different Versions.
The actual Version works very good.
If you use it as Stand Alone Version then please copy arm7 and arm9 Version and try it for yourself.I also think the Performance and/or Compatibility depends on the Flashcard itself.As you maybe also notice there is no arm9.dsi Version on Github.

I didn't know they made an MSU cart for the Genesis.... I knew about the SNES one and the library for that is rather large but the Genesis one has very few games+1
