Hi Everyone, and thanks for all the precious work of this community, it's litterally astonishing. I'm new to the switch hb scene so please be patient with me, i'm a noob.
I succesfully exploited my switch with fusee, and installed the atmosphere firm 9.01. I had a lot of problems with the sdpackage the first time (missing files, bootloader ecc. ) but then i managed to solve them by my self downloading and copying files manually. Now the console boot with hakate and atmosphere/kosmos but i have some doubt and troubles that i hope you can kindly help me to solve. Here my noob questions:

1) i was not able to solve a problem i had with Tinfoil. When i installed tthe first time Tinfoil, i had a problem with and error "checking consoles" from then i started to have in the home menu a grey tile with a continous gear as something is loading, and i don't know how to remove it
2) I read there's a lot of discussion about tinfoil, if it's full of malware or not, so i decided to go with Awoo installer 1.3.1. I succesfully installed it but everytime i open it i have the same "Applet mode" error. Some of the nsp files i downloaded not working, and don't know if it's due to the applet mode. I tried to start the app with "R" pressed, but nothing change. Seems that this functionality is not working.
3) How the hell i can exit from the hb menu to the home menu without restarting the console? :D ... sorry i told you i was a noob !
4) i didn't use the dns for stopping the console to go on internet, there are risk if i simply play some games with the wifi connected to the home network?
5) could you suggest a software to stream Steam/PC games to the console?

Thanks again for your help!

1. It appears you started tinfoil in applet mode. If so, tinfoil installs an forwarder because in will not work in applet mode. You have to access via title override.
You can uninstall the gear icon (aka tinfoil forwarder) with any title manager like goldleaf.
2. You can access the hb menu in 2 ways. By clicking on album (applet mode) or by simply starting any game (YouTube counts also) while holding the R button (not applet mode/title override).
If you start your hb menu with titleoverride there won't be a problem with awoo saying it's got an error due to applet mode.
If you have problems with some nsp, did you get the right sigpatches?
3. Do you mean the hb menu (game+R)?
Just press the Homebutton on your joycon/controller. After that close the game with the x button.
If hb menu is started in applet mode, just hit home button and it's closed.
4. If you have done some kind of pirate stuff (edit saves, install nsp etc.) while connected to internet, there is a VERY HIGH CHANCE, you already got flagged for a ban in the next wave.
5. I think that's just not possible.

Wait, is Tinfoil unsafe?
It's closed source. There are/were offensive messages in closing screen.
I don't know for sure if it got any malware code or smth implemented.
I think your good to go if your willing to accept the "premium features" locked behind the sx os license.
I dont know much about tinfoil as I just used it only couple of times. I abandoned because I got 5 times faster dl speed with my PC.

I only use it to install packages I get from elsewhere. And it seems fine? Now I am worried ;_:

I guess you are fine. I never heard of any serious damage made to any user. Premium features are iirc icon display, multi thread download, queued download etc. As you just use it as an titlemanager/installer you don't need that premium.
I think there isn't any bad code really, just greedy paywall. There would be like thousands of users complaining about implemented malware code and that's just not happening. There's just a paywall for a somewhat greedy developer.

I think there was one case, where some hacker tried to reverse engineer sx os and he got a crash as sx os implemented a code for the case if someone tries to steal their software.
But again, I am in no way any good informed on that matter, either sx os or tinfoil.

I use awoo installer + nsusbloader as it works better for me.

Thanks a lot for the helpful informations! i just have some more questions, there's a way to understand if the console is flagged for the ban? I use nsusbloader that's why i'm connected to internet. There's a way to stop the connection to just N servers?
there's a guide on how to install sigpatches? I mean something like this Moonlight that is also reviewed on this site

Thanks again!

1. I don't think there is a way to know if you are flagged for a ban or not. Be careful with cfw online stuff.
2. I assume you have an emunand setup running, there are two ways to stop a connection to nintys servers. First and easiest is incognito_rcm. Just load that payload, backup your prod.info (sysnand and emunand just in case). After backup, delete the prodinfo of the emunand. If you boot now into emunand cfw, under settings-console there shouldn't be a serial number anymore, so no connection.
Second option would be to setup 90DNS. A custom private run DNS server, which routes you around nintys server.
3. Sigpatches depend on how you start your cfw.
Whether you do it via launching fusee-primary payload (either direct or with hekate-launch payload) you need these patches.
Or you boot your cfw via hekate-launch cfw then you need these patches.

I don't know what moonlight is though.

Wow it's incredible how many useful things i learned in just few minutes ! thanks! that thing of the incognito or 90dns should be added to the guide, because a lot of us i'm sure are completely unaware of this, and simply think that cancel any connection is not viable!

I launch via TegraRCMgui this payload hekate_ctcaer_5.1.1.bin, from there i simply click on launch. I'm in this case "either direct or with hekate-launch payload you need these patches" right?

Moonlight game streaming is a software that works with android on swithc to stream pc games, but there's also "In home switching" to stream games from pc...
