We've got new details regarding the Pokemon Home service, which will allow players to transfer some of their favorite Pokemon to the latest games. The service is set to launch next month, in February 2020, with both a free and a paid plan available. For free, players can deposit 30 Pokemon, have three creatures in the Wonder Box at once, and can participate in "room trades". The premium version of Pokemon Home will cost $15.99 a year, and will expand upon the features of the basic plan, such as raising the limit of maximum deposited Pokemon from 30 to 6,000, having 10 Pokemon in the Wonder Box at once, being able to use Pokemon Bank, and giving access to the Judge function, which lets you see your Pokemon's EV's and IV's at a glance.

Pokemon Bank, a service that also previously required a yearly payment, will be made free for a month, to celebrate the launch of Pokemon Home, and made it easier for premium players to import their Pokemon into the new program.

The Wonder Box is a feature that acts as a larger-scale Wonder Trade function, trading selected Pokemon randomly across the globe, even when you're not using the Pokemon Home app. Meanwhile, the GTS will be making a comeback, and just like the older games, you'll be able to deposit a set Pokemon and request a trade with someone for another Pokemon, under certain conditions. Room Trades are similar to Wonder Trades, but you'll join together with a set of 20 players, who will each randomly trade their Pokemon. Players on the free plan can partake in these trades, but only paid members can host them.

Instead of receiving carting your Switch to events, Mystery Gifts can be obtained both locally and online through the Pokemon Home app as well.

I paid 34€ for Pokemon Sword, now they want people to pay for features they didn't include in the main game 30€ more and then also 16€ a year for the bank feature? And we still need to pay for Nintendo Switch Online?
Guess who's now getting even less money from me.

Guess everyone forgot about Pokemon Ranch and Pokemon Box? GameFreak has been doing this for quite literally 17 years now. The only difference is that this time it's offered as a service instead of a product.

I blame the last generation of gaming. First xbox had paid online then sony said "hey these dumb ass's will just give us free money to do something they already do so why not charge too." Now nintendo see's the $$$ signs in there eyes. Shit wont change unless gamers stand up and say enough but who am i kidding that will never happen when people are willing to pay thousands of dollars in micro transactions just for a decoration or to speed up shit. Gaming is dying a slow greedy death. Long live microtransactions and point, click, wait, decorate piles of shit.
There's still tons of amazing games and caring developers, both in AAA and indie department, so gaming isn't going to die anytime soon. The situation isn't much worse or better overall than it was decades ago, and there's a lot of similar shadiness from publishers in the past, it just manifests in different forms now. If anything, gamers should just learn how to "vote with their wallet" and support good products instead of mindlessly circlejerking around bad ones with rather ineffective hatred.

So does this let you transfer Pokemon that aren't normally available in Sword and Shield? If so then that explains why they cut the roster: so they could sell it back to us later!
it lets you transfer to pkemon home but they wont transfer to sword and shield so yeah...

the major diference is pokemon box or pokemon ranch arent needed to transfer pokemons between generations lol, they were just storages, but if you want to transfer pokemon from last gen to current gen you need pokemon home.

nintendo already had pokemon bank which was a paid service and now you need to hop between 2 paid services and possibly switch online which makes 3 to transfer between last gen and current gen.

I was expecting so much worse.
Like transfer fees and tons of nickel and diming.
The free tier is definitely rather small and they gotta give more storage somehow.
Say registering a new game gives an extra 30 etc.

Fifteen a year while okayish I don'tnfeel its entirely worth it with the current feature set. Especially the EV IV reader which is an obvious non service gate. Ten bucks I think I could stomach better. Least the 3ds system comes included?

Eh not great but not the horror I was expecting at least.

Though it does make home look rather bad as a "place to keep all your pokemon" if ita based on a subscription.
I think they could do better not gating storage size and instead only gating transfers and adding special extras.
I meam its pokemon you want to encourage catching not discourage it.
Especially woth PKGo being all about catching and trashing. :/

But hey always TemTem and other indie clones. We can always just, move on.

I got it on release day too, it was also through coupon in an online store in germany. Even without coupon i wouldn't need to pay more than 50€.
But my point was that i wont pay double for a game which at first had many features removed, compared to the earlier games, and then included via DLC and a subscription fee which makes it basicly double the price. I'll not be surprised if they announce that you need nintendo switch online to use pokemon home.

ROFL. What a rip-off.
:rofl2::rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

I just hope that one day consumers will open their eyes and will stop falling for these predatory practices that aim to squeeze every single penny one has.

But who am i to judge, i drop $$ on mobile gaming gachas

Ah, true. I completely missed that. I guess it's not unprecedented given Pokemon Bank, but that's still pretty harsh.

GTS being on a unified platform is a really good idea, though 30 pokemon for free? It really doesn't take a lot of storage capacity to store pokemon and I think £16 a year is a bit much to store a few kb of data.

Plase help me when the transfer become legal. I can trade you anything even my legit shiny that i got in the game.
Yes, i can mod my system but then i need to buy another console for play Smash online.

Personaly i will go for the DLC just so i can say i have 100% Gen8 and then be done with Pokemon games forever. Hopefully next year and futures years we are gonna get some more good Digimon games for all platforms.
Wasn't cyber sleuth really good?

Cyber Sleuth is was Pokemon DREAMS it could be, ha.
That game was so damn good, Digimon games are getting waay better with each new one, eh.
The older ps1 games weren't bad either, but imo, they had the problem of being, like, either "guide-dang-it"s, or just plain too hard/grindy to be fun, mh.
