Thank you for your Reply.:)

Which Version of the USBLoader GX did yo have please ?
Which USB Device did you use please ?
How is it formatted ?
Is is plugged into the correct Port 0 ?

Thank you.:)
USB Loader GX was the latest version the other day.
WD My Passport (some four-digit number), formatted as WBFS.
I had it plugged into Port 0, however -- I take back the however (but I did end up switching to Port 1; I'll try switching back).

EDIT: It booted Mario Party 8 successfully, however as I was selecting the volume, I noticed a 100 MB FAT-32 partition that I'll swear doesn't exist.

If you have v3.0 r1272 of the USBLoader GX then maybe the WBFS Format of your HDD is the cause of your heavy issues.:(

Can you please try format it with FAT32 and please transfer your Games with the WiiBackupManager on yourHDD ?

That should maybe help.
Thank you.:)

I edited the original post, but I successfully booted Mario Party 8, but as I was selecting my volume, there was a nonexistent 100 MB FAT-32 partition.

--------------------- MERGED --------------------------- (forgot I was the last post) (not using that as an excuse to double post)

[Request]

I would like an option to spoof any installed game to act like the inserted disc, and go back to the Wii Menu with the spoofing still active. This could be useful for modpacks that require a certain game disc and don't work with USB loaders like USB Loader GX.

@Larsenv WiiGSC support is already fixed in my build.

https://gbatemp.net/posts/8856063

I've also received a report that creating disk backups fails while the IOS is set to 58, so when I've got some free time I'll either patch that or revert everything back to 249.

I don't know who told Cyan that IOS 58 was better, but personally I've not seen any benefits to it. If anything it's caused more problems.

Hello,

I am of the same opinion that you @blackb0x , the cios 249 works perfectly well with the loader.

With IOS 58, I saw nothing more.

Often times people have the ios 58 when launching usb loader gx and it doesn't work, so they put the cios 249 is all solved.

And as said alexander1970 , it is perhaps intended for the format superior of 2 TO HDD

I think it is meant for the HDD Loading/Recognizing for newer HDD´s (2 TB up).
It'd be good if someone with a 2TB or larger drive could confirm that.

Or is there anyone out there who had issues with r1271 or older, which were fixed by the change to IOS 58 in r1272?

It is a Fact that most Issues with USB Devices appears when updating to r1272.
I can remember Cyan always recommended an manual Update/re-install includes reset/deleting the previous Settings.
I can also remember my last previous Version was r1268 and with that Version all works fine (Install Option and Game Loading) on cIOS249.
I never used r1271.
No Issues with USB Sticks.
Actual using your r1272 MOD.Did you changed something more then fixing the Gecko Code Download ?

Thank you.:)

Yep. That's why I said that I think it's caused more problems than it's solved.

When I've got some free time I'm going to see if there's any speed differences between 58 and 249.

In the first version I fixed cheat downloads, removed some redundant code and optimised all of the images. And then in the second release I fixed some bugs and added Nintendont BBA emulation and net profile options.

Can anybody point me towards simple, up to date instructions for getting this to utilize two USB sticks or drives @ the same time?

Edit: To be clear, I'd like to use two wbfs folders, on the separate drives (in fat32 format).

Hello.:)

You mean to work with 2 USB Drives at the same Time - Game Loading from 2 different USB Drives at the same Time.
Unfortunately this is not possible on the Wii USBBackup Loaders..:(

You can maybe ask @fledge68 if he has more Success on his WiiFlow Lite Project.

Thank you.:)

Hello.:)

For Test Purpose I would install "Super Smash Bros. Brawl PAL" with the USBLoader GX.I am using my original Test Wii,without the d2pro Drive Chip.

Also using your latest Enhanced Version from here
https://gbatemp.net/threads/usb-loader-gx.149922/page-1316#post-8856063

To my Surprise it still did not recognize the Game.I tried several in/outs of the Disc,no Chance "Unknown Format".But this was not new, previous Versions of theUSBLoader GX did the same.No matter of using IOS58 or 249 for the Loader.

On the Disc Channel, with NEOGamma and with the Configurable USBLoader v70 r78.11 all is fine and I can install the full Game.:)

An other Thing I have noticed,on IOS58 - the Loading Bar on the Hombrew Channel when starting the USBLoader GX is on IOS58 a little slower than with IOS249.I tried it several times.:)

Thank you.:)

I believe many users with pen/stick drives have better results with 1272 IIRC.

My HDD is not newer "WD 2TB My Passport Ultra" 4-5 years old. I also reverted back to 1271 when IOS 58 was implemented at 1272 release. 1272 caused nothing but problems for me.

There is also the Tab-Mod 1272 that uses 249 default & fixed slow boot times released in September in this thread. I don't remember the author (sorry). I have been using this and have had no problems. I'll give @blackb0x new mod a try, thanks for this.

I have seen that many people have problems with your USB if it is in FAT32 format, the loader does not detect the games however in WBFS detects them, why does this happen?
Since I updated it, it's become chaotic this .:P

I just made an observation, that probably has something to do with usbloader gx: My drive (1tb seagate in non descript enclosure) makes annoying sounds every 10s. I tried it woth different enclosures, with and without an usb y-cable, and a powered usb adapter. Also, I cloned the drive to a 3,5" hdd in a powered enclosure and the results are the same.

If I use these drives on my PC or when I boot i to the system menu, these sounds cease.

Does anyone have similar observations?

Hello.:)

I used very old IDE Enclosures when r1272 came out.Yes,I remember pretty well on this Sounds, because I thought the old IDE HDD´s will die soon....:O
Then I changed to SATA and this sounds were also there (not so much but yes, they where there).

Now with SSD and a Blue LED on the Enclosure, logically no Sounds, but the LED flashes at irregular Intervals (on the USBLoader GX Main Menu Screen without any Movement of the Wii Motion or Gamecube Controller).

Maybe @blackb0x knows something about this "Process" ?

Thank you.:)
