Hello everyone,

I'm new to Switch's hack and have a lot of questions to understand things well.

Actually I got an Sx Os recently and use the Jig method to boot my hardware. However I saw it may broke the joycon rail or not work anymore with time ? If so, what should I do? Around how many time could I use the jig before it happens ?

There is also Auto Rcm, but I'm feeling unsecured to use it because I often use my Switch in sleep mode and sometime can't use it for many days and may forgot to power it off maybe. Is it okay to use Jig for many years to come ?

Thank you for.your advices.

Thank you for your reply !

I see ! Is it really okay ? is it hard to use a payload with a portable ? It's the only way to boot the switch with auto rcm if the battery is fully out of battery?

Also if I use auto rcm with Sx Os, I will always boot to the menu of sx os to boot on cwf or charge a payload ?
Thank you very much for your reply again.

If you don't trust autoRCM, and you have doubts about using a jig regularly over a long period of time, I would suggest to mod your right joycon then. Absolutely no risk to your rail, and very reliable.

Is it easy to mod ? Can we buy like a modded one instead ?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

But if the rail is broken, in the worst place I just need to get a new one and change it right ?

If the rail is already broken, yeah, your options are limited to replacement only. Modding a joycon is not too hard if you have a somewhat steady hand and a soldering iron with a fine tip. The most recommended mod is the joycon release button one.

Thank you for your reply ! I will check out on internet. If you have a good Tutorial, I would be interested. Actually, I found a place in my country who can do Joycon rail change for not too expensive. So if I don't succeed, if onlt the rail can be broken, I should maybe just make a change at this place if I don't succeed to mod the joycon.

If you found a place that can do rail change, I guess they would also be willing to mod your joycon for a price. But remember that most people are perfectly happy using autoRCM. It's just a matter of learning how to properly shut off the console so it doesn't sit for hours in RCM and totally drain the battery.

I contacted the shop about modding the joycon and they told me that the joycon may not work anymore after an update from Nintendo. Is it true? If it doesn't work anymore ,can you still at least launch the Switch in RCM with it?
