If the Fall Steam sale or the Winter Steam sale wasn't enough for you to get a collection of cheap PC games for your Steam account, it's time for yet another sale. Today marks the beginning of the annual Steam Lunar New Year Sale, which sees hundreds of games discounted from their regular price. You've got until January 27th to enjoy the reduced price tags, and general Steam festivities, such as earning tokens to deck out your Steam profile with, or limited Year of the Rat cosmetic icons and emojis. Certain popular games like Dragon Ball FighterZ, Rayman Legends, Dark Souls III, and more are all on sale for 75% off, while newer games such as Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order and Sekiro have been slightly reduced.

Yes! I'm gonna pick up FighterZ. I was dead broke during the holiday sale, so I didn't get much from it. One thing though: don't buy Jedi: Fallen Order. I found one at sale used for $5. I'm serious, and I live in a small redneck town (not my choice, my family's). I also found one at a damn Goodwill.

Eh, whatever game I buy is probably going to be next week's free giveaway on the Epic Store.

Also I have dozens of perfectly excellent games (including the ones on the Epic Store) that I've never even started.

I just realized: you can add $50 to your Steam Wallet and then get the $5 off coupon. (Or in my case it would be adding $66 CDN to get a $6.50 coupon.)

I remember last year they straight-up offered $6.50 CDN off one purchase of $30 CDN, and that was a compelling offer. This, not so much.

Gaben: How can we get people to buy games in our platform?
Valve Employee: Oh, I just found out next week is the lunar new year. Cool.
Gaben: Steve that's a great idea! Let's put it to work!

Meh, only interested in Factorio.
I tried the demo, and it was not super fun at first (coming from a background of someone who automates EVERYTHING and as efficiently as possible in modded MC), but grew to like it by the end of the demo. I was acutally having quite a fun time of it when my entire setup was working properly! Then I was informed that they took screenshots of my personal build throughout the playthrough and that they were going to upload a bunch of stuff about said playthrough with NO way of canceling out of the send dialog other than straight up killing the game right then and there.

That did it for me.

The devs have stated that the game will never go on sale or appear in a bundle. Of course, it's conceivable they might one day hand the project off to someone else with different feelings about it, but I wouldn't count on that happening anytime soon.

There's always Spacechem and Opus Magnum, I guess.
