Hi guys. I'm on the latest firmware and using tinfoil 0.2.1 tried various download links including this link: https://github.com/satelliteseeker/Tinfoil/releases/tag/v0.2.1-USB-fix

However when I enter tinfoil. It doesn't respond to any buttons. I can press home, but nothing else works. Any ideas of which stripped down version I can use?

I find it the quickest and easiest method of installing via USB, Tinfoil and NS-USBLoader v0.9

It needs to either be rebuilt with libnx 2.5.0+ so it can work on 9.0.0+ or you need to enable Atmosphere's hid-mitm for older homebrew that hasn't been rebuilt, by going into SD:/atmosphere/config/system_settings.ini and setting enable_deprecated_hid_mitm to u8!0x1.

If I enable if it in the config ini file. Will that mess anything else up?

It shouldn't.

Though it has been noted in Atmosphere's change-log that the temporary hid-mitm may be removed in the future to save memory.
So it may be in your interest to find a more recently built version of tinfoil to work with in the event that would happen.

2 Things to note
1) system_settings_ini is locate in SD:/atmosphere/config_templates I changed enable_deprecated_hid_mitm to u8!0x1 but it still didn't work. It looks like the enable_deprecated_hid_mitm to u8!0x1 line is a comment though and not a code?

The ini's in that folder are purely templates and not used.
You need to make your changes to the template file and then copy it into SD:/atmosphere/config/ (or create the directory if it doesn't already exist).
And yes they're commented by default, so when you change it make sure to also drop the ';' at the start of that line.

1) I copied system_settings_ini from SD:/atmosphere/config_templates to SD:/atmosphere/config/
2) Opened system_settings.inii with notepad++
3) Changed line ;enable_deprecated_hid_mitm u8!0x0 to enable_deprecated_hid_mitm to u8!0x1
4) Saved the system_settings.ini file

I've been using the Tinfoil 0.2.1 to install NSPs via network (and Fluffy on my PC) but controls don't work on 9.0.1 anymore...
Since I only install NSPs via network install I'm in dire need for a patched version. Was someone successful in doing that?
I really need the network install + Fluffy functionality.

When tinfoil 0.2.1's control doesn't worked and I do follow #92 and somewhere familiar to it and it did works. Just follow it then put it atmosphere>config folder then reboot it and you are good to go. It works for me!

It worked for all other applications that didn't work, except tinfoil 0.2.1. Now I am using goldleaf 0.5 passing the nsp to the sd card...

Use the ns-usbloader together with awoo. it has a network feature wherein you would just drop the file within the app and send it to the switch
