I have my switch sd card which is getting full and im thinking of buying a larger card.
Question does nsp vs xci use exactly the same space on the switch?
If i have a game thats nsp is there any advantage to have it as xci instead?
I tried to have a 2nd sd card but the games from the previous sd card still display how can i prevent them displaying.

Thanks in advance.

NSP games use less space than XCI games do. Instead of buying second sd card, you can also use a external hdd and connect it to your switch or to the dock (SX OS only).

I used to use a hdd with sx, but then invested in a 512gb sd card and went down that route. It uses less space and it means I don't have to be connected to a Dock to use all my games.

remember, some physical games aren't available on eShop. So get one of them depends to your liking.

The games will always display on the Switch menu because that's your "recently played" section. Games that you have on physical cartridges will also display here despite the cart not currently being in the system. If you are looking to squeeze more space out of your SD card, you could install some of you NSPs onto your NAND/emuNAND. Since that 32gb is already allocated, you are free to fill it up without using up any more space on your card. Are you using emuNAND? The fact that you mentioned using a second SD makes me think that you are not using emuNAND. I would recommend using emuNAND (although it will take up space on your SD card, you can "reclaim" that space by filling it with NSPs as mentioned above).

I just use the USB to USB Type C Adapter and am able to connect a small sized HDD to the Switch without additional power supply and without the Dock.
Its clonky but so is the Switch and its possible to copy files from HDD to SD on the go. A smaller USB Type C Stick would work better.

Good thing about XCI files is, you dont have to install them and you can start them from HDD.

edit: For NSP<->XCI conversation, https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-use-nsc-builder.524364/ this is best.
You need to get your keys with RCM Lockpick, regular wont create all needed keys. That gave me some headache. ;)

I feel nsp has more advantages. I believe it runs faster no matter what and if you have a lot of games, SXOS seems to take forever to scan them. But when I say a lot of games, I mean a lottt. Personally, xci advantage is for HDD support
