So here is where I am at see here first minute in or so:

2 Problems.

1. I cannot go full screen mode. That isn't the end of the world. Managed to resize the windowed mode to my liking using mugen.cfg. But I would love to fix full screen but no biggie. Appreciate any feedback.

2, Problem number 2 is I have no sound. Now I believe this is because I need OSS or ALSA or ESD and this kernal uses a more modern sound driver. Now I know linmugen works with HDMI because I play it that way on my XBOX all the time. So it is definitely compatible least I think it would be. That does get a bit confusing because technically I use a component to hdmi adapter on XBOX. In terms of the files I am using it is pretty much the same folder I run on XBOX with some edits to my mugen.cfg. So I don't think it is the files. I also notice the same behavior with standard linmugen package.

This is really frustrating cause I managed to get config working with ps4 controller. It is also running nice and smooth.

Any feedback, help, or suggestions are much appreciated.

Install the Gentoo equivalent of "osspd" and "osspd-pulseaudio" and you should have sound effects, for MIDI music I wasn't bored enough on how to create a MIDI device on my Debian box...

Can you help me out with some terminal commands or wiki links? I think i have tried this but i ran into dead ends. I know you know your stuff. Have you actually tested this out yourself to confirm in the latest gentoo build? I am going to give this a go tomorrow and let you know how i make out.

i definitely know it is possible cause i found this:

But it is for ita image not gentoo

thanks for any help!

Sorry but I have no clues about Gentoo, you could follow what @mircoho suggested in the post above or you could try to "emerge" the OSSpd... https://bugs.gentoo.org/288059

thanks. I tried what mircoho suggested. Looks like all went well but linmugen still no sound sadly. I will check out what you posted thing is i don't think i can use emerge because the oss trees are gone? i am kinda noob about gentoo but i did some reading i forget the word they use decrypet? like obselete? so i would have to somehow create my own tree? it's all very confusing.

tried just typing emerge osspd but terminal didn't like that reviewed the bug link you shared and read but it's not clear to me what command i would use in terminal not sure where to go from here sorry for my lack of knowledge only want to play me game
