How do i edit a Pikachu to be shiny in Pokemon Yellow which you can transfer to Crystal?

so im using a Hacked old 3DS which i want to a shiny Pikachu to a legit Pokemon Crystal on a New 2DS?

im mean ive done this before with a bulbasaur before i just cant remember how. (either im making a simple mistake which i cant seem to see)

the main problem im having is that after i import my sav using SaveDataFiler the game becomes corrupted.

checkpoint doesnt even see the game for some strange reason.

"Whether a Pokémon is Shiny is also determined by IVs, though in a much more specific manner than its gender is. A Shiny Pokémon, in Generation II only, must have IVs of 10 in Defense, Speed, and Special, as well as an IV of 2, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11, 14, or 15 in Attack. Such a lineup only has a 1/8192 chance of occurring, the standard rarity of a Shiny Pokémon to this day.

  • 10 IVs / DVs in Def, Special, Spd
  • 2, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11, 14, or 15 in Atk
Shiny Pokemon in Gen 2 therefore, must have DVs in every stat besides HP. HP is random."

thats what i did. i edited my save with Rhydon save editor which is a gen 1 and 2 save editor. when i export it its corrupts my save on the 3DS.

edit : i should have used PKHeX.okay thats corrupts your file too.

Bunch of reasons why this could happen. Don't know exactly what steps you're taking though so it's hard to tell.

If the save file isn't named sav.dat and/or is not the right file size, then the game won't be able to load it properly. Same if there are extra files in the folder. You probably aren't making those mistakes though, but it's worth mentioning just in case.

Most likely it might have something to do with the secure value, but in theory if you just exported the save file, edited it, and reimported that same file, then deleting secure value shouldn't be needed. That being said secure value stuff might not work the same way on VC than it does on other 3DS games, so maybe it needs to be deleted every time and that might be the problem. SDF doesn't do this automatically, you have to manually do it after importing save data, and only newer versions of it even have secure value stuff.

That being said it should work just fine in Checkpoint, as long as you've loaded the game at least once (and maybe saved in-game) so it creates a save file. Because checkpoint won't show games if save data is uninitialized. Otherwise you might be able to refresh the list by holding B and that might make it show up. And Checkpoint should be handling secure value stuff automatically.

Also I guess it's possible Rhydon might have messed up something in the save file, idk. I'd try starting over with a fresh save, nothing to lose.

You don't need to do that. PKHeX reads and writes VC saves as-is (and this isn't needed for Gen. 1 VC anyway.)

sav.dat needs to be exactly 32,768 bytes. I'd recommend clearing the save data on VC and starting again from there, because if the current save data in your VC is corrupted or incorrect, extracting it and re-injecting it might not help. And since you're just trying to edit Pikachu I assume you've already started a new game anyway and didn't have any important save data.

Easier to just start over, backup save data once you have a proper save file in, and just edit that in PKHeX. Then you just re-import it, and delete secure value (if it still gives issues.)
