nds-bootstrap loader: Run commercial NDS backups from an SD Card

nds-bootstrap:

Thanks to the work of ahezard, Gericom, Apache, Robz8, _catcatcat, and shutterbug2000 and other contributors, we can now load NDS games from the SD card, without any flashcard/SLOT-1 card.

Don't expect high compatibility, but do expect many, many updates.

Nds-bootstrap has come a long way from needing Mario Kart DS to even play games, it's amazing to see where it is now.



As shown in this video, the DSi on the left is running the game via nds-bootstrap/TWLMenu++, and the DSi on the right is the same game running normally, via the game card. The normal game has sleep mode issues, while the nds-bootstrap game goes into sleep mode just fine.

This is only a small difference (and maybe it's just a defective card), but, it's definitely the better way to play the game.

That, and the extra lengths gone to get things like the DS Web Browser working, despite it being vastly inferior to the DSi Web Browser in most ways. It wouldn't surprise me if the original Face Training is next :rofl2:

There's so much hard work out into these projects. Kudos to everyone who worked on them :)

Advance Wars stopped working on DSi SD, work fine with R4 Dual Core and the DSi overclock, but New Super Mario bros stopped working on flashcard (Graphical issue, like a bugged title screen, and black screen when i choose "new game") and in the SD loads normally.

If the Advance Wars title is Dual Strike, turn off heap shrink in TWLMenu++.

I have another question, why i got "Error 0, flashcard may be unsupported" when i try to load a game via R4 SDHC Dual core with bootstrap turned off? I'm supposing that i need to put my original kernel between the Twlight files, but idk.

I have a DSi with unlaunch installed and the SCFG turned on, i boot first to twiligth and then to the flashcard.

TWiLight Menu++ doesn't support flashcard kernel loading for that flashcard.
You can only use nds-bootstrap/B4DS.

The bug with edit access granting not working for the compatibility list has finally been fixed!
Apparently, I just had to delete some files in my Google Drive. :P

You can now request access again.

I can confim the Japan Version TID:YMPJ with/without AP Patch did not work.on the DSi.

I am having a lot of issues getting my DSiWare games to load. I have them all in the DSiWare folder. A lot of times they will load, but most times they will not. They will just boot me back to the TWiLightMenu launcher after the screens flash white. Zelda: Four Sword Adventures has to be selected like five times before it will boot.

I am on the latest HiyaCFW, the latest TWiLightMenu, and tried both the latest NDS Bootstrap along with the nightly version and keep having the same problem. It's not like the games never work. They SOMETIMES work, which makes troubleshooting so much more difficult. Is there anything else I can try?

Wait for the next version of nds-bootstrap to be released. The next version will support DSiWare.
