This is amazing. Now all current gen Consoles have a Retroarch port :P Strange that Mupen64plus Next runs so poorly @OsirisX do you have an idea why this is? m4xw works on this Core maybe he could help? he is a member here but you'd probably be better off going to the RA Discord if you have any questions :) https://discord.gg/CU4qBa

Thanks for working on this port, it's great to see new stuff happening on PS4 :)

Ok so my mame roms are in zip.

PCSX hangs when selecting a game in bin/cue.

Tried 1080 snowboarding on mupen and although sounded better the flashing was going to cause epilepsy.

I've got a 1st rev ps4 if that makes a difference, I did get res evil 3 to load to the 1st splash screen without bios in RA rev1 yesterday before it froze.

The online updater should be working. Which Hen version are you using? It needs to be at least ver 2.1.1.

Try using Hen 2.1.1. There are some required patches in later Hen versions that need to be applied.

Are the games in .zip file format? Sounds like an issue with file association. You can try adding them to a playlist and force it to use MAME core instead. I'll look into the cheats issue.
Just updated to hen 2.1.1 and the online updater worked just fine. Thank you very much!

PS. tried metal gear solid and it works, anybody know how to force analog stick to work?

Thank you for achieving the best hack on Jailbroken PS4 to ever come so far.
my heart was pounding when i saw my old PSX games on my 65 inch 4k LG, working in 16:9 aspect ratio.
Thank you man.
i am just new to RetroARCH but wanted to ask about some stuff, whether they can be achieved or not.

my PSX games look very pixelated and i googled about that and found out that there is a PSX core called [Beetle PSX HW] which allows users to adjust resolution, was wondering whether we can have that core on RetroArch PS4 or not .

2nd Question, will there be a Dolphin game cube or a PCsx2 cores, or RetroArch can't emulate those systems yet ?

thanks in advance

Settings>>Input>>>>User "X" binds>>>>User "X" Analog to digital type:
Then you can choose left or right stick for dpad controls (note dpad controls will still work as well)
Thanks I will try tomorrow. Retroarch as so many configuration, it's hard to get everything setup fine

First THX for this unbelievable release!
(Ps4 Pro 5.05, Hen 1.7, tested with retroarch rc1 and rc2)

@OsirisX: Thank you, That was the trick! I m so happy about your release, you made my day!

That should be mentioned that you need HEN 2.1.1

... tip for MAME2000 core users. A few roms need samples to play sound (like zaxxon).
On other systems, samples are loaded from the "retroarch/system/mame2000/samples" folder. If this is not working for you, just copy the "samples" folder into your mame roms folder. Now the sounds are are working ...

My feedback on Retroarch RC2. I tested some cores.
In my opinion the N64 cores are currently not playable. It jerks a lot and has sound problems (best core currently mupen64plus_next_libretro.self).

The Playstation Core has sound problems and sometimes jerky in the graphics.

SNES, NES, GB, GBA, GBC, Megadrive and Mame2000 cores are doing quite well.

You shouldn't forget that these are release canditates! ;) Again a big thnx for this great release.

For the future I wish cores for C64, ScummVm and Amiga :)

Shaders do work but I had to Download them from the PC version of Retroarch and FTP them to the data/retroarch/shaders folder manually

Still not working here. I copied over the system and shaders folders (CG & GLSL) using PS4 Xplorer. BIOS files from the system folder work fine.

When I try to choose a shader, I don't see any of the shader files in the Retroarch shader selection menu, I only see the folders so I can't even apply a shader.

I get the same issue if I try loading shaders from USB aswell.

Try setting the shaders path in RA directory settings.. SETTINGS>>>DIRECTORY>>>VIDEO SHADER

just tried latest and wow what an improvement. I even got famicom disk system to work! Yo this might also be cool with the vr headset. I just played falzion with it and it seemed quite 3d with 3d mode off. Which really blew my mind def worth a gander!

May I ask what rom set pfba looks for? A few games worked but most did not sadly.

What is the difference between shaders and filters ?
I knew how to apply filters but can't do that with Shaders yet.
Had to copy the filters from Retroarch PC version though.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
