Gaming What are the chances of a Mario Odyssey 2

The wii had Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 but the second seemed more like extra levels for the first which may affect the possibility of Odyssey 2. The wii U had only one 3D Mario game . All those games weren't released with the console unlike Mario Odyssey which was released with the switch which in my opinion may increase the chances of seeing Mario Odyssey 2. Finally Odyssey 2 will be a great commercial opportunity for Nintendo since everyone wants it and that more than 15 million copies of Odyssey were sold worldwide ..yet
this will depend on the new Nintendo console which they may release with PS5 and Xbox series X as they may keep it for the new console... So what do you think ?

Depends on how long they plan to keep the Switch around I guess. I definitely wouldn't say no to a successor

New console will arrive in 3-4 years. In the meantime I assume there is a place for new MO but they will keep it as an exclusive for new Switch.

New Switch has the same specs as the old one. It won't get exclusives, besides making it exclusive to a specific model means less sales.

Despite some evidence to the contrary Nintendo does like money and is not above a cash in. To that end I would not rule it out. Personally though I would rather see a bit less gimmick and more out and out memorable play.

While I enjoyed the first New Super Mario Brothers well enough (closer to 14 years ago than not at this point) the subsequent efforts in the field have fallen somewhat flat for me, and seemingly plenty of others too. To that end I don't think you can dismiss it that easily.

Or if you prefer then while galaxy does not do the most for me I can see including it in lists of things you ought to have experienced, along with the other 3d efforts. If you played any 2d mario though then I am not going to say you missed out by skipping New Super Mario Bros. 2, Wii, WIi U, maker* and I would even dismiss Super Mario 3D World as nothing of great note here. Indeed I would say if any of the non NES and SNES 2d titles ought to have been played then 6 golden coins (though do get the ROM hack patch to fix up the slowdown, add colour and luigi if that is your thing -- http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3784/ ) is first up to be followed by its predecessor before we go for the NSMB franchise, maybe and you could skip that or play 20 minutes and pretty much have it figured out.

*find any game with a level editor or use a ROM hacking one for any other game and you have experienced this, or probably better.

It wont happen for Switch at all. Maybe next generation or a brand new Mario game. I doubt it wont be sequel at all. Nah. Look at Super Mario Sunshine never got a sequel. I enjoyed it a lot too and always knew it wont got sequel. This likely wont ever getting a sequel either. Wii version was only one with Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2.

Super Mario 64 2 was planned for N64 but never did as well.

Therefore, Super Mario Odyssey was an okay game. Almost same things over and over like Super Mario Galaxy versions.

I doubt. Since BOTW was more popular than Odyssey. I don't think Odyssey 2 will be announcement, nah. And it won't.

sad but true when 2d mario first came back with New super mario bros on DS it was a good game and for some purposes Wii was too but after that it got really stale and they didnt change the formula at all I feel if they made a new 2D game with some massive change to the formula it could be good
