Need to know the Specifications for the MP3 File. Size, Duration, you name it. Obviously would just want something short. Example:
Dreamcast Bootup
PS1/2 Start
Windows classic Startup.

What about MP3Pro Files (.mp3, but apparently will be different than normal .mp3)

id like to know whats is the best format for the mp3 too , right now the one i use seem to crack in middle and doesnt play fluidly.

this module use very minimal heap therefore big songs wont load while boot , use any mp3 you like as long as it maximum 10/12 seconds , and if it sounds ok than its fine

im not sure im not define any bitrate in the source, its just how mpg123 library loads it , try using diffrent bitrate to make sure ^^

i guess that small crack in middle of sound caused by boot time :P its not very noticeable with regular boot sounds , but maybe in songs etc

v 1.1.0 is out with support for 9.0.0

https://github.com/KranKRival/BootSoundNX/releases/tag/1.1.0

Important Changes !

1.TitleID has changed - therefor you need to delete the old directory from version 1.0.0 atmosphere/titles/AA200000000002AA

2.bootsound path changed to sdmc://config/BootSoundNX/sound/bootsound.mp3

Module now compatible with kosmos toolbox

Greaaaaaaattttt, big thanks bro... and for averyone want a good bootsound like @TheZander, clik here :),
Unfortunately there's this weird hang if the sound is longer than 3 seconds. But the one I chose was Sega Dreamcast. Never owned the Dreamcast but it sounds really awesome. I wish I could use PS2 sound to satisfy my nostalgia but there's the weird pause and the sound goes for too long.

was wondering if could a option to config or such and load up a random .mp3 file from folder upon boot? that way it just plays a diff sound often. btw i appreciate that you have made this module, bcuz it truly is a one and only out there. id love to see some further development and support on this gem

There are so many great ones to pick from so random ones would be a treat.

Just wondering if the Dev can update this to latest firmware since Atmosphere changed titles folder to contents.

All you have to do is copy the 00FF0000000002AA folder to Atmosphere's "contents" folder..
I'm using it on 9.2.0 and the only problem is a small hang if you use sound samples longer than (about) 3 seconds.

I suggest you use Kosmos Toolbox and insert the following lines on toolbox.json (located at 00FF0000000002AA folder) and config.json (located at Kosmos Toolbox folder):

"name" : "BootSoundNX",
"tid" : "00FF0000000002AA",
"requires_reboot": true

And then you activate the sysmodule on Kosmos Toolbox.

All these are on by default & still don't work on 10.0.1 so an update to the app is needed.
