Yes, you must use the converter for the neogeo core. You must use it for the neo core in this thread and the official one from libretro since they share the same vm code. That's how it works... Decrypting on the Wii is out of question, too much ram needed...
I still don't see what you're asking. The roms? nothing special, just as usual, you must have roms from fba2012 romset. Use the converter, copy the cache files and that's it.
yes that's what i wanted to know. thank you.

Thank you Wiimpathy for your marvellous work ! One (silly) question though : is there any risk of "damaging" the nand by extracting the game on VM everytime ? I mean it must take a lot of rewriting and erasing ? Just asking, thank you again anyway, I never thought Samurai Shodown Special would ever run on the Wii, and it's flawless ! Cheers.

Hi @Wiimpathy,

I'm using R6 version and I've noticed major slowdowns in Strikers 1945 Plus. I mean more than the usual slowdowns this game actually has.

Also Sengiku 3 doesn't show any score or life status on screen.

Not sure this was also the case in R5.

And again, it's wonderful to be able to play all these NEO GEO games on the Wii so congrats and thank you.

For Striker, it's not a bug. It happens on a real NeoGeo too. Change the CPU Speed Overclock to 200 to improve fps.

It doesn't sound good for Sengoku 3. It's a game at the Ram limit but it doesn't use cache at all normally. That would help to test on previous versions, even versions before vm.

Thanks for the kind words. Perhaps what I've done isn't so bad as some of the libretro fba dev think.

It's pretty hard to develop on limited platforms without real debuggers and other peculiarities. It's not surprising that some retroarch console ports are sometimes so buggy. It's not encouraging when you spent days trying to help and someone just says that's terrible.

What a shitty attitude if that is true. But I think you gained experience from that, and that's the important matter. Of course that doesn't mean you should stop developing code just because some random guy told you so, if that were the case I would have stopped in 2015 or so.

lol

Yeah, it's true, I've been tagged in 1 of the fbneo issue at their github repo. I've asked what's so terrible about my code. I'm rather open to criticism because we all do mistakes and we always can learn something new. I know I'm not the best coder out there. But still...
No precise or contructive anwser in return. At first a bit upset to be honest. But you're right, we shouldn't listen to this kind of critics if we want to progress. As a result, I've blocked any notification from this dev and even if I can I'd think twice before contributing officially(if ever).
And yeah, I saw what you have accomplished with the devkit in a few years despite obstacles, this is fantastic.

Pff, c'mon. If it wasn't for you we couldn't even be enjoying all the Neo Geo library on the Wii. We love your contributions, critics without good intentions better stick to their stuff.

@Wiimpathy You have done a great job with RetroArch cores and you are a great person. Your work is functional and we can enjoy all the NeoGeo games thanks to your effort. No one before did that job so there is no doubt that you are very important on the Wii scene. I always will be thankful for all the job you have done for the Wii.
Why they said that kind of things of your work? Are they now making things better or something? (and even in that case, they shouldn't say that kind of things because you was the first to make it work).

@Wiimpathy thanks again for your great work! Do you know if there is any way to improve garou and matrimeele? these two games just still have sound problems during fights, the others are all perfect running on a Sony pvm

I never said the large games aren't working in the latest official versions.
There's a high probability that someday, the largest games won't load because Retroarch is growing constantly though.

Right now, even in the 12-12 nightly, all the games seem to work. There's about 500Ko left for the bigger ones.

What I said is that sometimes the stable versions have issues. So you can still use the versions from this thread.

Oh, my mistake, so it's kind of safe to update to newest versions of retroarch? I'm still using v0.3, works fine for me and no issues, awesome work by the way!!

Quick heads-up if you or anyone else uses PSX 2 USB adapters, the ones that have 2 ports in one: while the HID support is back, only one port of the adapter works now, sadly.

Hi.
I just forgot something... approximately, at which size do I have to convert NEOGEO roms?

I just forgot If roms lower than 20MB works without being converted...
Or was it lower than 25MB?

Also...
CPS3 works too?
I haven't tested that yet.
