You mentioned that haxchi can be used with this but my question is how would you load up haxchi cfw with this if you can't launch it from homebrew launcher? Haxchi cfw is loaded up by launching the DS VC app from the home menu itself. In that case, haxchi users wouldn't need a modified browser at all, so this method is essentially only good for non haxchi users who only ever use the browser exploit.

This'll be great for my friend who I helped recently, doesn't have haxchi. Thanks for writing this up, very useful expoit!

Oh sorry, for some reason i tought there was a hb launcher version of haxchi and part of the application was installed on a ds vc if you had a compatible one.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

You're right that nobody with Haxchi/CBHC has any real use for this, but it's technically true that this can be used to launch the Haxchi CFW instead of Mocha.
i suppose you can launch any fw.img

This is right up my alley, thanks for putting this information out there. I'm on 5.5.1 currently and while it sounds like it doesn't work on that, this could be useful to me in the future.

I've been looking into Haxchi and I've been trying to find a way to prevent my system from updating if I can. You mentioned using a DNS to block updates which is what I've been looking for, but it looks like the recommended ones might be closed. I'm aware that you can host your own, but I'm unsure if the Eshop can be accessed while doing so. Do you happen to know of any working DNS addresses?

You can access the eshop in any wii u version using the nnu patcher app
Im not sure if you have to disable the dns tho

Try the two adresses from wiiu.hacks.guide

My console is blocking updates but can visit the eshop

Ah ok thank you. I was unsure if those were still active due to their age and the fact that most have updated to 5.5.3, so it doesn't serve many people.

I've seen that mentioned previously, but haven't had the chance to try it. I guess I have to run the browser exploit and run it through the Homebrew Channel. That shouldn't be difficult. Thanks.

5.5.3.E
10012020a PAL Folder.
Does not work.
Any ideas?

Are there different index.html files that can be used? I dont mean on WiiU itself actual modified JSHack HTML index files?

Well, JSTypeHax uses code550.bin, but i have seen it work in the latest wii u version. Maybe its an E thing.

Does u.wiidb.de work for you? Have any browser exploits worked prior?

112 1037 error oppening new tab.

u.wiidb.de works great.

Tryed waiting nothing happens.

I open browser
load a webpage I used u.wiidb.de
press home gamepad
go in miimaker
close miimaker

That is step 1 right?
so it loads a web page where u left off basically.

Then followed the rest.

You mean you launch u.wiidb.de click haxx, and it opens homebrew launcher?

that is indeed step 1, provided you can use u.wiidb.de as a waypoint to launch the homebrew launcher.

Yeah and u.wiidb.de loads great.

I have it bookmarked the best can do unfortunately.

Damn odd I seen someone went from 5.5.2U to 5.5.3U and worked fine.

This is a very interesting Local Host Exploit however just wish there was another way I got x2 WiiUs to sort out and both 5.5.3E.

I have also removed update folders so WiiU cant download updates.

If you want to help, you could try hosting my index.html locally and see if it works, if thats the case, there is some sort of check on the browser to see if index matches the original index. If not, is just some generic rendering error, so maybe they changed something really specific on 5.5.3E.

Sure do you have a different index?

Oh you mean literally host the index via phone etc.

Yeah I maybe give that a try and see.

latest im aware of is 5.5.4.

I am on 5.5.1E with HaxChi

and have x2 5.5.E.

So far I dont see anything different or a reason to update unless exploit related.

So I updated my Wii U but its only up to 5.5.3j and doesn't update further, maybe because of the region?

Possibly I think Updates maybe required for Online Play and so far exploit apparently still works via browser.
How can I know which is the path of the JP region as stated below it differs from region to region
You will see a bunch of folders, open storage_mlc/sys/title/00050030/1001210a BIG NOTE: the title 00050030 and 1001210a were used for my USA console, this address might be different on other regions, and i only have tested this exploit on USA

storage_mlc/sys/title/00050030/1001210a = USA
storage_mlc/sys/title/00050030/10012020a = PAL

The folder will have Code,Content,Meta Like most...lol

However you need to go into Content and within that folder you will have Browser Folder and (Pages) Folder.

Pages/index.html THAT WHAT YOU NEED TO EITHER DELETE AND FTP THE MODDED INDEX OR TRY OVERWRITE.

Dont worry you should be fine worst case so far you get error and cant open new tabs just BACKUP ORIGINAL FILE FIRST.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

@Jonhyjp That index.html file is it simply a Renamed index-hax.php?

or is it have a little bit extra added to it?
