Hi!
I'm very new to the GBAtemp forum as you can see and would like a little bit of help with installing system channels to the vWii. When I say system channels I mean News and Forecast Channel to make the Wii menu "more colorful". I have already installed photo channel and today & tomorrow channel because someone had the wad's already compiled and ready to install to the Wii U but I couldn't find that for the channels I named before. As I searched through the internet I came across FIX94's "tutorial" how to "convert" the wad's so the vWii can run them without bricking the Wii, something I've learned that you have to do? However, I downloaded the wad file for the news channel with NUSDownloader and decompiled it with ShowMiiWads and threw in the 00000001.app and recompiled again. Am I ready to go now and install the wad with YAWMM or MMM? Do I need to patch any ios's? (I have a homebrewed Wii, currently, with a working USB Loader GX, don't ask me how I got there. But what it took to get that I probably have.)

Thanks in advance.

Why on earth would you want to install channels that do nothing but take up precious space on your memory?
Why not try installing games that you want to play and would look a lot more colourful and interesting???

The thing is that I grew up with the Wii and now I only have the Wii U. Those channels is somewhat nostalgic to me. That is the first reason, the second is that I can't find a clear "tutorial" how you go about when installing system channels to the vWii...

Cool, each to their own but i totally get nostalgia!

I'm sure there will be a way and I'll have a snoop around for you. If i find anything I'll report back here, unless another helpful soul from here beats me to it! Really unsure about the wad packing method you mentioned as it really has been a while for me on that front.

EDIT........

Think this thread may help you....

Ok, summary:
It was way easier than I thought, just download the wad with the help of the NUS downloader and install it with YAWMM. Result: It "worked like a charm".

Now I just have to wait for the vWii to be supported by the riiconnect24 to be able to use the channels, hehe he...
