A way to create .cia files from .3ds files on the 3DS itself.
Without using godmode9.
That would be pretty cool.

Edit: This was a stupid idea but whatever

I'd really love to see a fully functional BCSTM player on 3DS with full looping functionality. There's already code from freeShop's code that will help with creating a BCSTM player: https://github.com/cheuble/BCSTM-Player

If anyone can create a BCSTM player, that would be awesome! As freeShop is done and gone now, and was the only app capable of playing BCSTM files, we need to see a BCSTM player to replace it entirely.

It's that time of year again. Looking to commission an openssh port. Just a terminal that can use keys and run the commands.

No idea how feasible it is. https://github.com/openssh

I have a font that I'd want used and some basic input requirements for the terminal. Other than that, whatever works.

A tool to make forwarders for systems currently without them would be great: Master System, Sega CD, PC-Engine CD, Mame2003...

  1. Add Settings (Disable Bubbles) (Hide Icons) (Set Default Folder)
  2. Theme changer
  3. New Ui
  4. Button to delete app
  5. Add app screen for example "Description" "Delete Button" "Start Button" "App Icon"
  6. CIA Installer
  7. Add music
  8. Button To Open CFW Settings
  9. Reinstall Button
  10. Download directly Apps From Homebrew
  11. Nintendo Title Files Viewer (mostly like viewing files of a 3ds app)
  12. App Forwarder To Make Homebrew App Shortcuts
I Hope these ideas are great

Hey, what about a new, better amiibo simulator/emulator?

Or a Cheat Engine alternative?

Just throwing some ideas out there as wishful thinking because after looking into them a bit: I don't have the time and skill to do it myself for now...

New 3DS ZL and ZR buttons redirect to touchscreen coordinate input. Would be nice for games that don't supports the extra buttons but have regions on the touchscreen that open a menu/map etc. For example: Ocarina of Time and A Link Between Worlds.

An app to trim down 3ds screenshots to badge size and save as an injectable format. It would be cool to be able to make basic badges using only the 3ds itself.

What would it take to create a tool that emulates Spotpass functionality? For instance being able to access Spotpass Paralogues and Einherjar in Fire Emblem Awakening?

Here's a tool I think would be really neat. I'd make this myself but I got into the homebrew community about a week ago and if I were to tell you I was fully familiar with the formats used for 3DS data, I'd be lying straight to your face. Maybe I'll get to it once I understand how the data works and whatnot. Dealing with binary data is nothing new to me, and I've both reversed and created several different formats.

One tool that I think would be absolutely amazing is the ability to take a .3DSX and .SMDH file and combine them into a CIA file. The workflow works like this:

[3DSX, SMDH, WAV (for mouse-over audio), PNG (for banner)] => [CIA].
The icon would be inherited from the SMDH, but I suppose being able to override it would be handy regardless.

The primary purpose of an application like this is to allow homebrew applications to effectively have shortcuts on the home screen with custom audio / banners.

Anyone seen a snake game for 3DS? Seems like something that would've already been made but i can't find one. Maybe it would be possible to change a bit from an existing C++ script? I might try to make that if no one else will but so far it seems harder than i first thought :/

So I now have 2 3ds (New 3DS and New 2dsXL) and wanted to see if it would be possible to make a homebrew that would allow saves to be transferred back and forward to each other (kind of like cloud saving). The new 3ds is a lot more portable then the new 2dsxl which is why is why i even thought of this idea. It would kind of be like Checkpoint and a FTP combined. What do you guys think?

Is there a Gameboy Color emulator? Doesn't matter if you can't trade Pokemon as long as the save files can be edited.

Any reason you can't just copy and paste the saves from a device into the other?

Or just use a FTP program to upload the save files?

What would be really nice is a program to sent files from a 3DS to another directly.
