Hacking Question cant boot to cfw after hekate update?

hello,

i updated my switch with ChoidujourNX to 8.0.1. after that i updated hekate to 5.0.0. i injected hekate_ctcaer_5.0.0.bin and the hekate menu is showing. when i try to launch ofw, it works just fine, but when i choose launch and than cfw it shows me first "hekate ipl" background, sometimes the atmosphere background and after that im back in the hekate boot menu. so i cant go to my cfw. what i am missing?!

i dont understand, cause athmosphere is also on the sdcard.

Do you have the latest Atmosphere (0.9.2)? If in doubt use AtlasNX/Kosmos - today was the new version 13 with hekate 5.0.0 released.

Hmmm, I'm pretty sure, that I'm using the newest versions. But I could be wrong. My hekate menu (top left) shows me 5.0.0.
But how can I see the version from atmosphere?

Or... Can I just download atmosphere 0.9.2 and copy the files to the SD and after reboot it should than work?

ok, i tried now to download the latest atmosphere and copy it to my sdcard. same things happened now.

i also tried to inject fusee-primary.bin. on my switch i see "welcome to fusee" and than i have a black screen.

so it doenst boot to atmosphere cfw.

i dont know what im doing wrong

As Philipz mentioned are you using latest release of kosmos? https://github.com/AtlasNX/Kosmos/releases

hmmm, ok from the start. i downloaded
hekate_ctcaer_5.0.0_Nyx_0.8.0.zip
and copied it to my sdcard. i also downloaded
Kosmos_patches.7z
and copied it to sdcard.

i turned off autorcm. so i used my jig, booted to rcm mode und injected hekate_ctcaer_5.0.0.bin - now im in hekate 5.0.0, than i choose launch, cfw and than i got blackscreen.

When you updated, did you choose the 8.0.1 version with exFAT support? Is your SD exFAT?

Yes, I choosed the one with exfat support and my SD card is also formatted in exfat.

I tested now a other SD card which is formatted in fat32. Got the same problem.

Any ideas?

I would try download the kosmos pack from the link provided with the most recent atmosphere release and then try to boot up

As a matter of troubleshooting, do the following:

Remove all traces of CFW/Atmosphere from your SD card.
Download the latest version of Atmosphere, even if you already have it.
Download the latest version of fusee-primary (next to Atmosphere on the releases page), even if you already have it.
Put Atmosphere onto your SD card.
Boot the Switch using fusee-primary.

What happens?

try removing the nyx.bin from the bootloader folder/sys and trying

nothing helped. so i copied my whole sdcard to my pc. formatted it to fat32 now and copied the newest version from atmosphere on it. now its working again

bu i have still a question. i have 2 pictures attached. i want my "old" stuff on my switch again. can you tell me which folders i have to copy back to my sdcard?

picture 1 is "now" and picture 2 was my "old" sdcard backup.

Were you overwriting the Files/Folders or Deleting then pasting?

Overwriting will lead to black screens 101% of the time so just delete the required folders and paste the new ones.

what are you doing ? i got same problem.... i try to hack my switch first time and it worked all fine.... after i start hekate, launch fw - i see the hekate background and then it jumps back to the hekate screen

Another newbie with the same issue trying to get CFW to load. Switch is confirmed unpatched & on latest firmware. SD card is 128gb, FAT 32. Created a backup NAND before meddling. AUTO RCM enabled.

Have tried the following configurations but cannot get Hekate to load CFW:
- Basic package from the SDSetup site. Hekate loads the CFW splash screen, then reboots Hekate.
- Kosmos 14.2 release with 5.0.2 Hekate. Splash screen, then Hekate reboot.
- Atmosphere 0.9.4 with 4.10.1 Hekate; when launching fusilee payload, I get an indefinite backlit blackscreen. Requires power button to be held.
- ReiNX latest release with 4.10.1 Hekate; when launching payload, I get a half second of waifu followed by an unlit blackscreen. Requires power button to be held.

This is a real pain. Could this be related to the latest OFW 9.1.0 that dropped Dec 4th, or am I missing something.
Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated.

Don’t think atmosphere is compatible with 9.1.0 just yet, a few sources are saying that.

Ah, I see. I wish I would have realized before I spent all that time trying shit out. I guess I'll restore my NAND for now and hope I dont get banned.

I was under the impression that this hardware exploit is unpatchable though. Is it just a matter of waiting for an Atmosphere update, or is downgrading an option?

If you have been using your CFW NAND with installed NSPs online you are probably already flagged for a ban anyway.

Luckily this is my first time switch hacking and I didnt make it as far as even loading CFW. Also, I input the DNS90 block. If I do get banned though, I'll be sure to submit a report.
