Hardware Switch with no display

Bought a second hand switch off ebay, it was classed as "dead".

No amp draw using an amp meter, and no usb detected. I replaced M92T36 and I now get 6v on pin 5 and I get 3v on pin 6 when I press power, I also get RCM so i'm assuming it's had autoRCM installed at some point. If I try to boot Hekate I get backlight but no image, there is also still no amp draw or battery charging even when the switch is "on"

What would be the next suggestion to try, P13USB or BQ24193? I was leaning more towards P13USB as that provides the video but would it also solve the no charging?

It's weird, it has a usb connection, but it's not drawing any amps, TegraRCM detects it fine and I can inject payloads fine

Have you got a genuine nintendo charger? if so plug it in
what voltage do you get on pins 21,23 and 22 of M92T36
what voltage do you get on pin 1 of bq24193

Roughly 1.2mv on all those pins, so next to nothing, I maybe need to try reflowing M92T36

yeah that's with charger plugged in, pin 5 gets 6v, pin 6 gets 3.3v but those pins you said only get around 1.2mv?

Nothing as well, i don't think i've put this m92t36 on properly lol, although why am i getting RCM and backlight

Have you got any voltage on the fuse just above the usb port with the charger plugged in, also test it for continuity with the charger removed

Why did you change M92T36 in the first place?

What voltage have you got on the battery

This sounds like the exact problem I have with a switch I'm attempting to repair - customer attempted to replace usb port themselves, I replaced usb port with a new one, replaced the fuse they knocked off and replaced the fuel gauge they damaged, system powers on immediately into RCM mode but they swear they've never modded it or enabled autorcm, so I guess something is broken somewhere - I can inject a payload successfully and the backlight turns on but nothing displays on the screen.

So maybe the problem this switch has with it going automatically into rcm mode without display is the same reason yours is doing it too and neither actually do actually have autorcm enabled?

But I've tried looking for solutions and all I can come up with is either maybe the tegra is dead, or as everyone keeps saying for literally every switch problem it's either M92T36 P13USB or BQ24193 - which none of those components are shorted out upon checking, but maybe one of them needs to be reflowed, or maybe P13USB did die regardless? I'm completely unsure since the switch isn't exactly informative in rcm mode, we have no debug tools to have the switch report it's problems, no indicator that there's even a problem or that the switch is even turned on lol

If it enters RCM directly there might be something wrong with the eMMC or at least it's unable to read it. It should however display a picture if you inject a payload like hekate even without any eMMC at all. If it doesn't do that it might still need a new M92T36. That chip causes all sorts of funny behavior when faulty. Especially since the console had a broken usb port this is the one chip that will likely blow up first. These chips can also die without causing a short to ground.
Also check the capacitors on the bottom of the board for shorts to ground. But keep in mind that there are also a few inductors that look like caps at first glance. If you think you found something and are unsure, post a pic.
