So as an update, I grabbed my patched switch from home at lunch, and I was able to get it immediately detected on my PC at work.

This leads me to believe that it's something with this switch, likely maybe something with the USB.

Updating again, I initiated a refund/replacement with the seller, and they have approved. So hopefully the next one will work.

Thanks for the replies :)

Use TegraRCM Gui, install the driver in the settings menu.
Power down switch hold power button 20 secs..
Put the console into rcm mode. via a rcm jig or other rcm method.
Once you belive you are in rcm, plug in the cable from pc to the switch and send the payload.

Id start with lockpickRCM or biskeydump
Get ya console specific key.,
then use hekate payload and backup nand.

The switch is already well on it's way back. Like I said, I can detect my patched switch just fine, but this one can't be detected on any one of my 3 PCs, and 5 different cables. It took me all of a minute to get my patched unit in RCM and detected, but 6 hours of playing with this one and nothing.

On what you said, I couldn't do any of that anyways, because the PC won't detect it at all. Drivers, no drivers, it won't even show up as unknown device or APX. It'll charge, that's about it. I clearly get it into RCM, plug it in, nothing at all. Yet I switched to patched, detected fine in less than a minute. Clearly even though it charges, something's wrong with it. Either the USB port was damaged in a way that just didn't affect the pins used in charging, or something else along those lines.

@Coreinsaity are you still on this thread? Here's another interesting one. Probably yours about the same. Older unit fixed/parts replaced & up for sale for a cheaper price. Nvr tested to run cfw.

Thanks I'll have to check that one out too. The new one should be here later this week, I'm hoping it doesn't have the same issue. I guess we'll see, if it doesn't I'll refund it entirely and look into other options.

Are there any recommended places to buy unpatched switches?

So if you happend had swith in AutoRCM and one day the USB chip cook it self up and you did not notic.Since it will charge switch like normal, then you would be stuck on RCM forever?. In case if you have to restart or shut it down. Would it be safe by disable AutoRCM amd use jig instead?.

The switch doesn't charge normally while she is in rcm mode. The console charges, but very sloooow.

You doesn't stuck there. Hold the power button a few seconds and you are out of there. Thats all. You force the console to the shutdown.

I would recommend it. It's a nice to have feature.

Hi thank you reply, I mean if you are on CFW and charge switch like you would do. Also Autorcm even if you turn if off when you turn it on again it will be on RCM and it will not boot since if you can't get it to detect by Pc to send payload. With the Jig if your USB chip is cook you can still boost back to HOS.
Ps it just my opinion about Autorcm and the usb chip is die.

No. This was fixed already since atmosphère version 0.8.4. The console shuts fully down when you power it off via the menu in hos. Even with autorcm.
Thank you for clearify, but what happand when you turn is on again?. Would there will be any way to aend the paylaod apart from modchip?. I mean if the PC it not detect switch in Autorcm mode after you turn in on again. Will the switch stuck in RCM till you fix the Usb chip and send payload?.

With autorcm? Nothing. The screen stays black as long as you don't send a payload. The console can't boot without it because it thinks it is bricked. Use it or let it be. You can charge the console in rcm (for the case the battery reach 0%) a half hour or a bit longer.

Will the switch stuck in RCM
The switch can not stuck in the rcm mode. Hold the power button (like i already wrote) when you can't send a payload. This forces a shutdown of the console.

till you fix the Usb chip and send payload?.
Idk what you mean with this statement!? Which usb chip?

Well that what is this OP topic is about. I think the usb controller chip is die, it will charge but it will not comunicat with Pc. Hence that why you will be stuck in Autorcm forever even if you shut it off and it will back to rcm till you fix the chip and send the payload from PC.

I think you misunderstood something here. AutoRCM=RCM Mode. AutoRCM means your console boots only in rcm mode and wait for a payload because it thinks it is bricked. There is no difference between this two. And again...you can't stuck in the rcm mode.

it will charge but it will not comunicat with Pc
Are the drivers from zadig installed?

Did you read the topic?. I know what RCM is and how it work. What I mean is if you had Autorcm on your switch and you did not know that the chip that controll the comunication with Pc is not fuction, then you accidenly shut the switch off, with restart it will be chain load so that not tje problem. Now you can't get the Pc to detect switch because the Usb chip is not fuction. Now my question is since you shut it off completly then turn in on wit will be on rcm till you send the payload yea?. But Usb chip is die so it mean that switch will be in RCM forever till the usb chip is fix. So that what I think Jig will be safe to use sinve if your usb is not working with Pc, but you can still load HOS to play something.

As I understand what their saying: if you have AutoRCM mode on and the chip dies (or something otherwise happens to where a PC or phone can't pick it up in RCM), then you can't push a payload to it to to get it past RCM and will be stuck with only being able to turn the switch on and get into RCM. If you can't push a payload and you can't boot past RCM, then you're stuck in RCM. That appears to be sound logic to me, based on what I've read about all of this in the past.

Thank you OP !!!. Finally!!
If Iam not write it clearly then Iam sorry it my secound language. In which you really can te when the USB chip will be die, unless you try to connect it, then you find out. Then it will be too late if you are in Autorcm mode.

So just an update, got my new unpatched switch this afternoon. It was able to go into RCM no problem, first try. Have it running CFW and all that np.

So, it would appear there was definitely some kind of hardware fault like the other, and sounds likely it's from the USB controller chip based on the other thread.

something to try for fun. Plug in the problem Switch while looking at 'Device Manager' and see if an extra usb device was added. (there might be a lot so count them before hand)

Windows 10 latest update forces you not to be able to install signed drivers. Make sure you turn off driver enforcement. You can google on how to.

Make sure you turn off drivers enforcement on windows 10. There's a bunch of ways to turn it off.
