Hi

I have my unpatched switch that i don’t want to send to Nintendo with a strange problem: everything is working except tv mode
When docked, the battery can charge but i have no display on tv
Tried with another dock, another TV and another hdmi cable...

Someone knows what the problem is?

P13USB chip or the "chokes" that are directly under that chip. Either way will require so DMM investigation.

First measure with the multimeter if you know, if the "chokes" have continuity, then if the capacitors are short. Usually the P13USB chip is blamed for your switch failure and will probably need to be replaced with a new one.

If no image on HDMI docking - Check 3v is getting to the PI3USB.
I would also check if the dock LED go green and the TV attempts to find a signal
Check around the passives around PI3USB. In particular the ferrite filters. These are quote weak!! check impedance & continuity is uniform with all of them

also check the resistor (4 in total) I think they are 150R. There is a big (well... 0603 size I think) inductor between pins 4 and 10. Check that for continuity and voltage I think is on the 3V rail.. but not sure. An LC tester would be good for this.
If all turns out to be good, it HAS to be the filters. All it can be.

the caps between the chip and the filters are all – 0201
the ones on the rail to pins 19 and 20 (AUX+ and AUX-) are 100nF x 2
The other 100pF

They smooth the signal between the power rails and VBUS and if you get the Switch recognised while docked but then you don’t see image, they are probably the issue

this may also help
