Dragon Quest Builders 2 is getting a PC port next month

header.jpg

A handful of months ago, Square Enix released Dragon Quest Builders 2 for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, receiving rave reviews from critics and Dragon Quest fans, becoming one of the highest scored games on Opencritic for 2019. Now, five months after its release on consoles, a PC port has been announced, and will bring Dragon Quest Builders 2 to Steam. The PC version will contain all previously released DLC, and will launch early next month, on December 10, 2019.

Huh, I was somewhat under the impression this was already on PC, but great news nonetheless! I really want to dive into this at some point.

I hope they fix that multiplayer and make it proper coop through out the whole storyline rather then just your own private island bs.

Also I hope somehow this gets mod support :toot:

Lmao, what even is the point of buying consoles anymore when, like, 99% of all games get eventually ported to pc, eh
Consoles tend to be easier to get into with casual gamers, people on a tighter budget, and parents with children who can't be trusted around PC hardware.

Although I do have a decent PC, when it comes to most games, I do prefer playing them on a console. While I could connect my PC to my home theater, it just wouldn't be as pratical, especially since I use my PC for many other things.

Also, nothing beats portability, I love playing on the go.

Let me just say that if you've spent any time in DQB2 and then try to go play the first, it's like tying a hand behind your back. There are so many quality of life improvements in the second that you forget they made until you try to play the first again. I'm not surprised it isn't getting ported. Now... if they redid the first in the second game's engine - I'd be on that in a heartbeat.

Played alot of this one on my Ps Vita I will definitely try part 2 on my new pc

I LOVED DQB1 on the VITA, until the V-2000 drift became unbearable...
I only hope DQB2 will be decently optimised and that it will run on the GPDWin2 (imo far easier to carry/play on the go than de switch)...

While I love Dragon Quest, I played a bit of the Builders 2 demo on Switch and wasn't all too impressed. I found it lacked some of the distinctive charm I find in the series; I don't think I played enough to actually have an educated opinion, however.

Nevertheless, it's great to see more DQ games on PC. I really hope they port the original mainline games someday - I'd buy them all.

DQB2 was so insanely fun. I poured at least a good 30 hours into playing around and having fun building all sorts of stuff. The online with friends is a little antiquated, but still a ton of fun as well. Really glad to be able to play it at a stable framerate on PC.

maybe we will get a mod for better online play.
