I purchased a modded vita with henkaku 3.6 when I go to the settings menu. This is my first vita and I have no idea how to mod it. It hasn’t come with am sdcard but I have a new microsd card and an sd2vita adapter.

I can see that it has the following apps installed already. Molecularshell.enso.h encore.autoplugin.cuthom theme manager.simple account switch.adrenaline.cat2fc liberty.

I just want to know how do I use it. First thing is to prep my sdcard how is the folder structure meant to look like what do I add to it? Before I insert it to my vita. Can I use the switch account app to sign in with my psn account? To use any of the emulator apps loaded do I need to put anything on my sdcard or can I just dump roms to a folder somewhere to play it? Is there a cheat library or way I can get free dlc or any other recommended emulators or apps I can install that are must have as I love retro consoles or arcades

You're going to need the following VPKs:
Vita Shell
Storage Manager
Retroarch
Pkgj

Open Molecular Shell on your Vita. Connect it to your computer. Press select on the console and it should show up as a USB drive. Open it up and create a folder called "VPK" and place all of the programs I've listed in it.

Disconnect your Vita, open system settings and enable unsafe homebrew. Open up Molecular Shell, navigate to your VPK folder and install Vita Shell by pressing X on it.

Once this is done you'll want to follow this guide for setting up your SD2Vita:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/the-my-sd2vita-psvsd-is-having-issues-thread.510876/

After you've configured your storage options to your pleasing, install the rest of the VPKs to your system.

Simple Account Switcher will allow you to change accounts on the system.

Retroarch is a front end for emulators. Just create a folder called "ROMs" in 0x: and fill it up with your favorite games. Some systems such as Turbografx 16, Gameboy Advance and Sega CD require the appropriate system BIOS file.

Pkgj can help you with DLC, although you may want to use autoplugin to install either repatch or ref00d if you are playing games that require higher firmware.

Vitacheat is something I've never personally used but there's a thread around here that can help with that:

I'm ready for them! I've done the Vita set up plenty of times so I'm willing to help out whenever I can.

Appreciate it thanks. Going to the shop to get the microsd card and attempt this hope I don’t brick it but since henkaku has been done for me it might be easier than I thought. Crossing my fingers to load up the sdcard with everything

Ok I watched a youtube vid on how to load storagemgr to the sd2vita sdcard and also that hyperlink on how to prep my sdcard. Ive written down these steps from what I can tell I need to do, are they right or am I missing something?

Place below files on root sdcard
Storage config.txt and storage manager.skprx file
zzzblank.img
Install wiin32 flash imager on PC
Load the zzblank image to sdcard
Format it as exfat with default options
Launch vita shell
Press select
Connect via usb to pc
On PC, navigate to ux0 and make sure there is a tai folder, copy it and go into ur0 and paste it there
Dump storage manager to the tai folder
Edit storageconfig.txt file
Delete the line MCD=uma0 (since I don't have an offical Sony memory card? Or wrong here?)
Gcd-ux0 Keep it via this since I have a 2000 vita
uma=grw0 (keep this line as I have sd2vita)
Edit config.txt file
Under Kernel, create a new line and paste in ur0:tai/storage.skprx and save it
Transfer the config and storage config file to the vita
Backup everything on vita ux0 to your pc
Copy everything from the pc ux0 folder and paste it to the root microsd card
Turn off vita and insert sdcard

This should get my sdcard ready to go on the vita before I can start to load emulators and roms right?

Why are you placing files on sd root first, only to wipe them with zzblank.img in a subsequent step?

Ok I think I found a much easier way to prep my sdcard seems it saves a bunch of steps by simply running the autoplugin option. Is this a better alternative and it does the samething?

If there is any help from anyone something weird has happened. I followed that video guide above and I can see my sd2vvita microsd card appearing as ux0 with the 256gb storage space as that is how much the card holds. But I am trying to test it now, I cant launch h-encore, enso, adrenaline, simple account switcher and catsfc liberto vita which I assume is the SNES emulator. All these were preloaded into my vita that I purchased from someone else. Have I stuffed something up here? Or did the person I purchase it from do something wrong?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Oh yeah auto plugin was working I installed some addons like putting percentage on my battery, analogue dual stick support etc some random apps and now that wont load also after it rebooted and vitashell has stopped loading

I assume all your preinstalled stuff (like vitashell) is on your memory card, mounted as ux0. If you mount the sd2vita as ux0, all stuff from your old memory card isn't loaded at all. You may copy that stuff from the memory card to your sdcard...

I dont have a memory card though. When I purchased the vita it didnt come with a memory card just the console and usb cable to charge it nothing else.Is there a way I can copy it over if I put it on my sd2vita?

Is it possible if the previous owner of the vita did some sort of format or because he took his own memory card out or sd2vita out that he may have had would this cause any corruption in the files potentially? Im just wondering if I need to re-install henkaku and enso but so so so scared if I brick this thing

You have probably one of the newer vitas with 1gb internal memory!?
Best is to change anything back, i.e. mount the sd2vita as uma0 and the internal memory as ux0. Then copy the apps you want over to uma0 with vitashell.

correct I have the vita 2000.How do I change everything back because I cant launch vitashell, or autoplugin. All I did was once the sd2vita card was setup and it was detected by vitashell I just launched autoplugin and used the install addins for sd2vita as per the video I linked but since they wont launch I have no idea how I can revert things back to the way they were to start again.

I mean it I am new to this I dont understand a lot of the instructions and videos they are very technical and not explained very easy for beginners I feel. Im just following videos on youtube as I find them easier and copy what they do. Problem I think is most of the instructions assume its an out of box console ready to mod first time but my console was already modded though it didnt come with the microsd card and adapter that the seller had and I had to replace them

As a test I also went into settings and selected unmount memory card and also went to henkaku settings menu and selected reload tai and rebooted the console and still same issue. Hope this didnt make it worse

Ok so I browsed to the link http://henkaku.xyz
It downloads the file and installs it. It launches molecular automatically once completed and in purple writing it says taiHEN has already been started press any key to exit and when I do same issue. I still cant launch anything including molecular and it reboots my vita

It also says molecularshell already installed if you want to force reinstall reboot your vita and press r1 when asked to
I rebooted it but I was never asked to press r1 so Im not sure when Im meant to press it
EDIT. Ok I figured out when to press r1 and I see all these progress bars appear but eventually it says the same error in purple taiHEN has already been started press any key to exit
I exit this and my vita reboots, it then says an update is available do I want to download. I pressed no. Then it said my memory card must be formated to do this go into settings and format the card to use it. I press ok on the prompt as there is no other option present. Now my vita is does not list the molecular, enso, h-encore and other applications its as if brand new out of the box and my vita is not detecting my sd2vita card now the storage space is not 256gb now
If I go into System, Format, Format memory card I have the option to format internal memory card 1gb should I select to do so or not? I assume this will remove henkaku maybe?
I cant sign onto PSN also even though it looks like a new install when I put my credentials it says I must sign on with the account that was used to register the system, being the previous owner

Sorry for the long read I think I fixed it. Ok I can launch vitashell, molecular and all the applications. I simply removed my sd2vita adapater, rebooted the vita, inserted the 1 game cartridge I have and for some reason all the icons re-appeared again and now I can launch them. Not sure what I have to do next to make sure everything is working and to get my sd2vita adapter to work
