PKHeX has a toggle to allow you to set a Pokemon in your box to gigantamax, preserving all other details about the pokemon itself. It literally just changes that one thing on the pokemon. If a cheat code could be made to ignore this flag and just make all eligible species Gigantamax, it would work.
PKHex has a toggle for those specific pokemon not the entire line other then the charmander line doesn't it, I do agree it would be cool to use any pokemon but it would make no sense if you gigantamax a Charmander and it comes out as Charizard
That's not what I mean. I mean the species itself. Like, any Charizard can Gigantamax. Any Alcremie can Gigantamax. Any Eevee can Gigantamax. Not its whole family line. Right now, even if the species has a Gigantamax, not every one in that species can use it.
@AnalogMan, do you think what I'm requesting would be technically feasible? Any Pokémon species that has a Gigantamax can use it, regardless of the individual, singular Pokémon's eligibility?
In a cheat? It'd be a very hard cheat and it wouldn't work for SXOS.
First you'd have to find a pointer to the decrypted Pokémon data in memory for when you get into a battle.
Next it'd need to read bytes 0x8 and 0x9 to determine the species of the Pokémon. Then it would need a conditional for each Gigantamax possible Pokémon and if it finds one, it needs to read byte 0x16 of the decrypted Pokémon data. This byte stores both the Ability AND if it can Gigantamax. So you can't just set it to a specific value, you need to do some bit mask operations (which is Atmosphere only, SXOS doesn't support bit mask operations) to set the Gigantamax flag without affecting the Ability.
The much easier way would be to use PKNX to modify the encounter tables and replace the wild Pokémon in the game with their Gigantamax variants and turn that into a LayeredFS mod.
Has anyone used pkhex to clone the Larvitar from the code event that is Givin in the double pack? I know when I used pkhex with sun and moon it kept erasing my save after the 2dt time I used it to add the event Pokémon to it. Like I was only able to do it once then after that it kept deleting my save no matter what so one reason why I gave up on them. So I am wondering if it'll definitely work this time with the double pack events because would like to clone my Pokémon and have them in all of my games. My backups, my double pack ones and also give them to my friends who are going to join me in the code event since I don't know if we can do the. A number of times so all of us can catch it. If I may, can I request a clone Pokémon cheat please. I wouldn't want to risk messing up my save if pkhex doesn't work for cloning Pokémon and ends up damaging my save like the sun/moon/ultra games
Is there or will there be an All Key Items code? Would be useful to ride the water bike earluy game.
Hmm... yeah. That sucks. I lack a lot of prerequisite skills to make such a thing, or I would make it myself since I don't use SXOS.
I think the main thing for me is that I have a lot of Pokemon I've already caught that I want to gigantamax, as well as making pokemon I bring up from past games eligible too. I know I can just edit the file in PKHeX, but I'd rather the game interpret the file differently, rather than actually editing the save with an editor. If that makes sense?
But that said, such a mod to change the encounter tables would be fantastic too.
Dont crucify me, but how do I get PKHEX to work on a MacBook Pro? It used to a while back but now its not working with Wine
Easiest way is VirtualBox (free VM software) with a free official Windows 10 from Microsoft (it nags for a license key but you don't need it). It kind of works in Mono and Wine if you're not running Catalina but I wouldn't recommend it.
So would you say Virtual Box is the one to go for then?? Sorry, Ive never used anything other than Wine see
What VM software does is run a full operating system in a single a application on your computer. I use Parallels Desktop as it is more robust, but it is not free. Virtualbox is a free alternative, and it allows you to use a full installation of Windows inside of it. Then you just install PKHeX inside of Windows as normal.
So even with 100% Catch Rate on we can’t catch Pokémon higher level than us? Any way to bypass that? I saw that it was a “wanted cheat” on the first page and now it’s not but there isn’t one on the text file.

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way -
