So i recently updated from 6.xx to 9.0.1 and ams 0.9.415 and along the way I fucked something up, the only way I can boot is in RCM mode and then once I'm past the atmosphere screen/nintendo flash screens I get a "cannot read this SD card" prompt, and I cant go into the "album" to launch homebrew stuff.

I know I botched something as well because it only works when I launch it on an older version of tegrasmash..Im such a noob and am scared I did irreversible damage over here.
Any help would be appreciated.

what do? what would happen if i reformatted my sd card and started from scratch? feeellll very lost right now.

thanks in advance guys, youre the best

probably updated firmware without updating the exfat for the firmware. Can I assume you are using an exfat formatted sd card?

I am using an exfat card, did I fuck up?

no permanent damage, horizon is just unable to read the sd card while in exfat mode. You're gonna need another SD card and use choidujournx with the firmware update to update the firmware to be able to read exfat sd cards before you can use your old one. It's one of the reasons why some guides advise against using exfat (outside of corruption issues)

No...you can copy over contents of SD to pc, format card to FAT32, dump contents back to card and boot up Switch. From there you can run a FAT32 setup, or redo choi with exfat and then reformat and copy again.

If I reformat to fat32 shouldnt everything work? or would you recommend redoing choi and starting with exfat all over? sorry for being such a noob

Definitely sounds like you need to switch to FAT32 and stay on that. Don't use exfat.

Only way i know of to check would be to switch to FAT32 anyway then run choidujour NX again it will show you... Reinstall the same firmware with the exfat option.

For formatting fat32, I use ridgecrop fat32 formatter ( http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?fat32format.htm , click first "here", then click the image). Windows won't format larger micro/sd cards, but this software will format it. Just be sure to get everything off before formatting.
thanks so much man. In the process of copying everything over. fingers crossed. cant thank you guys enough!!

If this doesnt work, what would my next step be? seeing as I cant even start atmosphere normally...

Dont copy everything over. Just copy what you need to do the update again. This time select exfat. When you're done, you can copy everything back over
