I Installed all the clean vWii IOSes that NUSDownloader and WiiBrew had, changing the title ID and version numbers accordingly, then I installed the vWii System Menu WAD. But its still bricked!! What on earth am I doing wrong?! Was it the System Menu WAD?

Im very close to giving up at this point. I dont have a vWii Backup or another Wii U. Is it illegal to ask for vWii Backups from someone else? If so, is there any other option?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you can simply download vWii IOSes as WADs from NUSD, there is no way to make good WADs from them so there are some extra steps required involving manually copying the files to NAND. And especially not the system menu as that uses a different encryption key which has not yet been cracked.

Wonder why someone said that it would work if I just downloaded them. I'll uninstall the system menu WAD then. Now what are the extra steps?

Your problem is your WiiU´s key. Each vWii is tied to a KEY dude. You cannot use another WiiU´s key. You can´t use another vWii/WiiU´s data for this reason.

So what happens in your box is simply that the processor sees your data is not alligning with the necessary keys and it refuses to execute them. Then it simply stops half-way.

Like i said: WiiU in general has very highend protection. We know that now. Just a few days ago i found out the reason why you can´t download vWii-games to begin with! Because they are also secured with such a fancy device-protection.

And this has something to do with it. You may still be able to fix your vWii-mode. But it´s not that easy and you better make sure you note on a piece of paper which changes you made!

The problem if you don`t have a "vWii-Backup" (You should allways do that FIRST! i also made that now, just a dump of vWii and all NANDs for me to make sure it won´t break so easily) is: Your system needs data encrypted with your key. Not with somebody else`s key.

I heard there are tools in order to encrypt a WAD-file or vWii-file with a certain key. You can input that key.

Of course you need to know your WiiU´s Key though in order to do that.

So i would recommend you`d try that first. Search for a tool which can encrypt WADs with a custom key (there are tools for that i assume). Find out your WiiU´s vWii-key (maybe you have that on a paper or somewhere stored?). You don´t even need to reach vWii-mode in order to do that. Just execute that Tool they made for WiiU-mode and the keys will be displayed on-screen for you. You can then photograph them or write them on a paper.

Whatever you do next: Good luck.

I'm not sure, maybe @Cyan knows.
I do not think they are console unique like @TheChosen says though. It is possible to install IOS WADs dumped from another console's vWii. But downloading vWii WADs from NUSD is not straightforward if at all possible. I have not looked into it too much.
Edit: Wait, how did you install them with a bricked vWii?

I used Some YAWMM as a vWii Title. I think I may know why its still not unbricked. Uninstalling the IOS WADS doesn't seem to uninstall the IOSes themselves, which is what caused all of it. If I use Multi Mod Manager as a vWii Title and I uninstall the problematic IOSes, would that work?

Well great!! Some YAWMM refuses to uninstall the system menu wad!

@The Real Jdbye does formatting the Wii U also format the vWii? At this point my vWii could be irreparable.

Don't format... You'll need to install the dumped vIOS, where you'll get them though, that's beyond this forum. You shouldn't need to manualy uninstall, as simply installing the new files will overwrite the old.

To summarize, Don't do random shit now, wait until Cyan answers, don't do anything you think will be "good". You doing stuff is what got you bricked, let others solve it.

Formatting doesn't touch the firmware.
It's definitely not irreparable, but it's beyond my knowledge to repair, you'll need help from someone who has experience with unbricking vWii.

Enhanced Vwii uses a separate virtualizer (00000001-000000101 instead of -000000100 or something) and completely bypasses the Wii Menu and IOS80 :)

Wonder why someone said that it would work if I just downloaded them
Was that me? I did say in more than one post that the (encrypted) files can be downloaded with NUSD by using a TID-high of 00000007, however I wasn't sure about the results of decrypting with that program (certainly not with the regular Wii "number 0" common key)... sorry for any confusion

It doesn't have access to vWii installed titles though AFAIK.

You know what I'm done with reviving my bricked vWii. Its a good thing I'm still able to play Wii Games on my Wii U but the method is just different. And of course Dolphin exists as well.
