ROM Hack Pokemon Dream Radar Cart Redirect Patch - Use save file on SD instead of NDS cart

This patch now supports Pokemon Transporter thanks to DRayX!

Dream Radar is a game that allows getting level 5 legendary Pokemon in dream balls with hidden abilities, and sending them to a Black 2 or White 2 NDS cartridge. Pokemon Transporter allows transferring Pokemon from previous games to newer games.

This patch redirects saving from an NDS cartridge to a file on the SD card. Using this patch allows Dream Radar and Transporter to use saves from TWiLightMenu/nds-bootstrap.

Usage:

Download and unzip the zip file from the latest releases
- The zip will have two folders in it - radar and transporter
- Each folder will have two ips patches in it - black2.ips and white2.ips
Copy the ips patch you want to your sd card
- For Pokemon Dream Radar use /luma/titles/00040000000AE100/code.ips
- For Pokemon Transporter use /luma/titles/00040000000C9C00/code.ips
Ensure you have a save file at /roms/nds/saves/white2.sav or /roms/nds/saves/black2.sav

Love this patch, worked perfectly! Is there any chance you can release a version with the save file with the name 'Pokemon - Black Version 2 (USA, Europe) (NDSi Enhanced)'? I've tried to edit the IPS myself to make this change, but it makes Dream Radar instantly crash.

I'm glad you enjoy it! Sadly, if I start making custom patches for some people multiple other people will want custom patches as well.

How feasible is it to make a redirection patch for Poke transporter? I would love to be able to upload my Pokemon directly from a save file as I do rng alot and use a edited rom for personal QoL changes.

edit: tried manually patching it myself based off your dream radar patches but transporter seems to crash after pressing A so i'm guessing more patches are involved but that's as far as i could get it to work with my limited ability.

I can't get it to work. I use Twilight Menu ++ and I made all the folders and put all the correct things in the folders I'm pretty sure but it says can not find Black 2 or White 2 game card when I try to transfer. What am I doing wrong?

Is "code.ips" renamed from one of the existing .ips files, or is "code.ips" a folder?

I put white2.ips in a folder that is named the TID of the game. I don't have anything called code.ips.

You need to rename it to "code.ips", as step 2 says:

Copy the patch you want to /luma/titles/00040000000AE100/code.ips

meaning one of the .ips files has to be renamed.

You'll need to create the /luma/titles/00040000000AE100 directory if it doesn't exist.

Great patch, well done! You should also mention your patch for Poke Transporter, because there are not many references. I think that the next step should be a homebrew app for on-the-fly rom/patch selection between B/W/B2/W2.
