Probably not more than 3 days before. They're probably waiting until closer to release to ship so data miners don't get their hands on them

It's taking forever. Surely someone somewhere will get their hands on a copy of either game somewhere in the supply chain.
I'm expecting a leak within 24 hours.

I'm surprised it hasn't leaked yet. But what if they have anti piracy measures

Nintendo seem to be shipping games to stores later now to prevent early leaks so don't expect more than 2-3 days in advance, 4 if we're lucky.

I was at Walmart this morning and they already sold out copies of both versions. They told me their store put them out yesterday and sold all copies. Walmart sold them at 44.95 per copy if you spent 25 or more dollars on other items. 55.95 if you didn’t. Double pack they sold at 99.95 if you bought it before this coming Saturday. I have to wonder a few things. how is Walmart breaking street days on switch titles each month since August and not getting in trouble with Nintendo. How can Walmart afford to sell the games at the lower prices?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I even saw someone post physical copies...

beat’em ups on youtube thumb nail for newest video reveals he has a copy of sword. He’s not denying in comments neither. Several youtubers have gotten copies from Walmart and other sources. Do to embargos and NDAs they are not talking about it to the general public. Only confirmed they got copies and they are not from Nintendo.

Some of said YouTubers probably got them as review copies straight from Nintendo.
I guess Nintendo haven't caught on to what your local Walmart is doing yet - or the store doesn't care, because Walmart is such a big chain that Nintendo would be shooting themselves in the foot if they just refused to sell games to them.

is standalone pokemon shield even on a cartridge? 'cause on the eshop it says that if you buy the sword/shield bundle, you'll get sword on a cartridge, then a download voucher for shield.

i know the youtubers I have been fallowing said Nintendo delayed shipping of review copies. Only recently they have been told they’ll be shipped out starting Thursday. Plus unlike other Pokémon titles, they are only being given one version.

my local Walmart shrunk the gaming part of electronics down and don’t have room in inventory to hold games anymore. I know that’s why the street dates are being broken. I just don’t see how Walmart can get away with it.

A family friend is a night shift manager and has been told by the regional manager to not hold copies in inventory any more for Nintendo games. 1.due to storage space issues and 2. The game cases are small enough to get lost among the countless printers and routers Walmart is now carrying and storing.

If you buy it on eShop I assume you would get both digitally :P
The bundle comes with a steelbook that holds both games so I would assume they are both physical.

the way it's setup is strange. I Just reread the part about getting a download voucher for shield. you get sword automatically when you purchase the bundle, but then you get a 16-digit code for shield, so I guess the system doesn't automatically download both of them (this is for the digital versions).

I've thought about buying pokemon, but I've never really played any of the games in the series. also, I've heard you can't trade with yourself, so I don't really understand the purpose of the bundle. since it doesn't offer cloud saving, I"m reluctant to buy it. my first switch died, and it was a major bummer having to go through games again.

When Pokemon Home comes out you are supposed to be able to use that as a middle man to trade Pokemon between the two games or with future games. Or just trade them to a friend and have them trade them back to you on the other save :P

SylverReZ @ SylverReZ: Also nice. Never really watched Fallout on Prime, but sounds like a good show. +1
