You had 3 separate people recommend ModMii and you decided to go off in a different direction?

LOL, I got confused because it said "If you have an older system menu then 4.3, you have yo use either Method E or F."
So Method B will work for me?

The thread you have linked to is very old (last update on the first post 2015). Though method "B" is ModMii, you do not need any other guide. Don't confuse yourself by looking at 200 different locations.

ModMii asks you some simple questions about the current situation and prepares all needed files and a html guide. It can't get any easier than that.

I very much recommend reading background information to get familiar with the common terms and to give you an idea how things work internally. But to get the latest softmod up and running just answer:
"Y" (es this is the first time modding this Wii, even if it's not, it will simply update everything)
"3.x" (your current System Menu version)

Please tell us the result.

Hi

In the options.
Desired System Menu, should I choose 4.3 or 4.1 (Recommended)?

If I want to play latest games - Just Dance 2018 (which has the latest Version 4.3U on it).

Below is the generated guide, I selected the defaults.

This guide was generated using the following parameters:
Install and\or update all recommended softmods
Current System Menu is 3.XU
Desired System Menu is 4.1U
Update active IOSs (can be disabled in options)
Do not Install a cMIOS (can be enabled in options)
Install a USB-Loader Forwarder Channel (can be disabled in options)
External Hard Drive to be Formatted as FAT32
Download USB-Loader GX
USB-Loader Seƫngs and config files saved to USB Hard Drive

Thanks
Sunny

It doesn't really matter. All 4.2 and 4.3 did was attempt to delete homebrew installs (HBC and cIOS). Which was worked around by changing the title ID of HBC, and setting the version of cIOS installations to max so they won't be removed. Only those back then, before these workarounds were implemented, were affected.
There really is nothing new added in 4.2 or 4.3 besides some of Nintendo's trademark system stability improvements (TM) and other minor adjustments (R).
Just Dance should no longer ask to update after updating to 4.1 with ModMii.
Edit: To clarify, I believe the disc updates only check for missing IOSes

RiiConnect24 works best with/outright requires 4.3, if I recall. That alone means it's best to use it. Even if OP has no interest in using the News, Forecast, or Everybody Votes channels, there's still no downside to using 4.3. Plus, it reduces the chance of esoteric IOS incompatibilities with games that the scene usually don't play, like the Just Dance titles.

You can install/update the News, Forecast channel etc. easily through MMM without actually installing 4.3. And same goes for IOSes, although if you use USB loaders, it doesn't really matter what IOSes you have installed since cIOS is used.

Thanks for all the collective advice.
I will perform the mod this weekend when I get some spare time.

One question, how long will it take to complete the ModMii guide?
One hour?

That's not the issue (in fact those 2 channels aren't even patched for use with riiconnect24) - it's that the Wii Menu* IOS must have the appropriate SSL patches (and it sucks because you can't trivially combine them with other ones, at least with the current tools, which also are IOS80 exclusive)

With practice and a good network speed, less than 15 minutes is an easy achievement - but no need to rush anything :)

To all,

I had a go at the Mod, but can't get passed the Step 1.Installing The Homebrew Channel (HBC) and Bootmii.
After running the Hackmii Installer. The screen below appears but the 'Press 1 to continue' never appears even after 3mins.

But I can reset back to the normal Wii Screen.

Please advise.

It could be because of installed cIOS. The problem is we still do not know what kind of modification has been done to your Wii in the past.

Try ModMii's HackMii Solutions +Guide option in this case before the main wizard.

HackMii Solutions Usage
You should only need this particular wizard to correct problems caused by inferior and outdated softmods like 'cIOScorp' or 'DarkCorp'.

The HackMii Installer can't run properly on Wiis that have been overly or improperly modified. If the HackMii installer freezes, or your Homebrew Channel is upside-down or you get a no vulnerable IOS error, this guide will resolve the issue.

For those interested in the specifics, this wizard will instruct you to launch a WAD Manager via an exploit and install some clean IOSs that the HackMii Installer likes (e.g. IOS58).

Ok, I finally got it done.

1. Completed ModMii's HackMii Solutions +Guide.

2. Archived the SD card files except the bootmii directory (since this is the only thing changed from the timestamp)

3. Completed the main ModMii Wizard Guide.

Install Priiloader with RECOMMENDED HACKS below & Play all WII games
  • Block Disc Updates
  • Block Online Updates
  • Replace Health Screen
  • Move Disc Channel

Some limited testing
1. Mario.Party.9 via USB - Works!
2. Mario Power Tennis via Backup disc - Works!
3. Wii Sports Resort via USB - Title comes up and did starts to load but crashes.
4. Just Dance 2018 - Disc channels starts to load but the screen just goes black and nothing happens.

I haven't done all cleanup on the SD card yet.
Could that be the problem.

Thanks all for the great advice!

One more thing, when I hit Installed File in Priiloader, it is suppose to do this?

Hello.:)

Congratulations,you did it !! Great Job.:yaywii:

Did you try the "Check for Update" Option on Priiloader ? It should update PRILOADER to Version v0.8.2 (r0x011588c8).
Your Wii needs Internet Access for the Update

If you do not have Internet here is the latest Version:
https://wiibrew.org/wiki/Priiloader

Thank you.:)

Wii Sports Resort needs Block IOS Reload enabled.
Just Dance may need cIOS250 (base 57)

I don't think there's an issue with the current version of priiloader installed. Launching an "installed file" will only launch if you first install a file/app. Basically with this feature you can autoboot to almost anything other than the standard options like HBC or system menu or bootmii.

Block IOS Reload enabled - This is an option in Priiloader or USBLoader?

cIOS250 (base 57) - I assume this is an additional WAD to install? Looking at my Unique List, I have cIOS250[56]-d2x-v8-final. This is not the same thing?

It's an option in USB Loader GX, I don't know about other loaders.
Nope, that's base 56.
