Hey guys, currently on the latest FW 9.0.1 on both my sysNAND and emuNAND. If there was an update out, for example, 9.0.2 could I safely install that on my sysNAND and leave my emuNAND on 9.0.1? Wouldn't that create a fuse mismatch and not let me boot into my 9.0.1 emuNAND?

Thanks!
The only way to boot into emuMMC is with a custom bootloader. And all modern custom bootloaders bypass the fuse check. So technically, you can boot any firmware on your emuMMC.

Hi! I'm looking for some confirmation before I go trigger happy with updating.

My Switch is currently on 8.1.0 and I installed Atmosphere after backing up sysNAND. However, I wasn't able to remove my Nintendo account as I hadn't updated to the latest 9.0.1.

So I've now restored sysNAND, the Switch is on 8.1.0 again - do I simply update it officially, remove my Nintendo account, make a sysNAND back up of 9.0.1 (no linked Nintendo account + add proxy settings first to be on the safe side) and use this for future backups? Then repeat the "restore sysNAND, update it officially, make a new clean backup, re-install Atmosphere" process for any new versions.

I don't mind burning fuses; what's more important to me is keeping sysNAND as clean as possible for online play.
There is more to lose than to gain by removing a linked Nintendo Account. The biggest loss is that certain games require a linked Nintendo Account so without one, certain games become unplayable.

As for updating, since you do not care about fuses, updating officially is fine although you have nothing to gain by burning fuses.

I forgot to say that I will be re-linking the Nintendo account on sysNAND - my plan is for sysNAND to keep it clean, with linked Nintendo account for online play. Then have an emuNAND with no linked account + proxy settings to prevent it from connecting to Nintendo servers. But I suppose it's probably okay to leave the Nintendo account on emuNAND, as long as it doesn't connect?

Correct.

My Switch keeps crashing on OFW 9.0.1/SX 2.9.2, no matter what games I play. The length of play time before it crashes varies, but it always inevitably happens. No error code or anything. Just tells me to press the power key to reboot.

I can't seem to get Atmosphere to work, either. It shows the AMS logo, then nothing but a black screen.

EDIT: Nevermind, I fixed Atmosphere. Seemed to have forgotten a file or two when setting it up. So far so good on AMS!

Uber-stupid question here: can I access (write to) my SD Card inside the Switch through a PC while it’s connected via USB?

I’m in the process of buying an old unpatched Switch and am reading up on installing a CFW and what I will require (USBC cable etc.) and I’ve just realized I don’t have an SD Reader at the moment.

I have installed web browser based exploit to launch Hekate but now I have an entry named Reswitch on the Switch startup screen under featured news. Is there a way of removing that quick link? I want the Switch to look as original as possible.

Unfortunately, no. You'd be better off getting a reader.

One of these should suffice. I recommend the Anker ones.

You can use homebrew called "nxmtp" once you have CFW.

so, im constantly running into issues with my emmunand. I want to use my emmunand rather than sysnand, as Id prefer to keep that as clean as possible and make my emmunand dirty, and i mean dirty. lol

im on about my 4th emmunand now. I install a few nsps and load in my retro arch collection, it works for a few days and then magically becomes corrupt. the sd card is 256 samsung from amazon official and i've also ran checks on it to make sure it has no faults

so im actually wondering if i should maybe start using sysnand instead? and keep my emmunand clean

Can someone clarify some things about emunand for me?
So what (I think) I understand from it is that:
1. It is like dual booting OFW and CFW.
2. You can have a lower OFW than the CFW.
3. You can go online on the OFW without being banned (although it can not be guaranteed since Nintendo might have a way to detect the emunand that no one knew about).
Is all this true?
Some more questions:
4. Is it also possible to have the latest OFW so I can play legally bought games online and have emunand with a lower CFW (because atmosphére still has some issues on 9.0.0)?
5. Is it possible to use a separate sd card for OFW and CFW (and android)?
6. I have a nand backup from before I hacked my switch, but it is on a lower firmware than I am now and my fuses are also burned. Can I still restore my backup, boot into OFW and update my switch in the normal way?
7. Should I setup emunand in this order: restore backup -> setup emunand -> update to latest OFW -> update emunand to desired version?

is it best to stay at 9.3 atmos or move up to 9.4 (didn't since things were broken?)

trying to figure out how to patch something on a higher firmware but see you need the newer keys

I know you can install NSP directly through USB with goldleaf but can you directly access the SD card with USB? like dropping a movie onto the SD card without taking it out of the switch

Is there a tutorial here or anything ? Or were those the ones were questionable to talk about?
The link I gave you also has a tutorial.

  • Yes
  • Yes
  • Yes, you can still restore your NAND dump but you will not be able to boot OFW because you burnt too many fuses. Your best option would be to boot stock mode via Hekate
  • Setup emuMMC before restoring your NAND backup

I would like to go back to ofw and I have my nand backup but since I also have a lot of savegames, I really wouldn't want to lose them. Is there a way to go back to ofw and keep the savegames? The nand backup I have doesn't basically have any savegames on so restoring it would wipe all of my saves.

I'm on fw 7.0.1

How can i format EmuNAND? If i try, it says i need to connect to internet to check my account. Any way to wipe it clean?

Also, how to order my homebrew apps? They seem to appear at a random order in the HB menu.

One more thing, where are games stored in kosmos? Like the Emuntendo folder for SXOS

Guys, i wanna hack my switch FW 2.3 What is your opinion i should do?
i cannot see straight true all these tutorials :-)

I have SX OS bought when it was released, but never used.
i hear there is a way to spoof the FW so BIG N does not detect that you hacked it.

Can someone we is willing to help an 40+ guy out pinpoint the correct way to use.

Cheers.
Thanks in advance

Guys can anyone help,

I have tried installing my first .NSZ file, as I would normally install an .nsp file. Using the latest version of NS-USBLOADER and OGTinfoil 0.3.0. The install began, got about 30mb installed very slowly then crashed. I have tried a couple different NSZ files and the same si happening. I want to install via laptop over USB so if anyone has any ideas what's going wrong please let me know.

Thank you
