I've checked the expanded ROMs now, here's how they are with the extra 3ds power (and what they did before):

Dark Rising Origins: World Collides (final) - Fully playable, but viewing the summery from the start screen freezes the game - viewing the summery from the pc works fine though. (Plays Oak intro, then freezes)

Loads but breaks:

F-Adventure - Red Chapter b14.5 - Freezes at the start of the first battle (White Screen)
E-Theta Emerald EX 02-27-17 - Freezes at the start of the first battle (White Screen)

White Screen:

Eternal Snow v2.0
F-Unbound Alpha 1.2.5 (2017) (gbafix required)
F-Unbound Battle-Frontier-Beta 1.3.1 (2019) (gbafix required)


I can't remember which, but I believe that it was Blazing Emerald and Sigma Emerald that had the same problem, where after Zigzagoon used Growl, the music died, and the game lagged a lot between everything until it locked up on the "The game has been saved" screen. Unknown if other hacks have the same problem or even the original Emerald. Other Pokemon (Tailow) using Growl does not have this problem, nor other instances of Zigzagoon cry.

I know that Pokemon Adventure - Red Chapter uses the second one, specifically a fixed version that is available on the bottom of page ten of that link (so since someone also had posted another one on that page, there are 4 day/night systems out there).
Since the emulator has to support it (and GBARunner2 apparently doesn't), it is always nighttime on those games, and the ones that show a time displays 22:?59:?59 as the time.

Obviously I will try some of the 16mb hacks that didn't work before, so I'll do that later. I'm also trying a couple other translations, so I'll make a list for that when I'm done.

@Gericom ,I found sound regression in the game Animal Yokochou - Doki Doki Kyushutsu Daisakusen! no Maki (J) while testing the latest master commit c7c78d0.
This started with commit 5569f94. https://github.com/Gericom/GBARunner2/releases/tag/v20190906-114953_5569f94.
So far the latest master brought performance improvements, some games run slightly faster.

As for the regression, I'd like to point out 5569f94 is of the wifi branch. You may only want to compare to master commits. Although I agree it's not clear on the release page from which branch a commit comes. Usually non master commits are marked as pre-release though.

You can fix the rtc in adventure red by editing the game header from bpre to axve and the applying the rtc fix patch from adventure reds pokecommunity thread. You can use rom header editor advanced to change the Rom's header. BTW the fixed version of the rtc patch in the thread you linked was created by the developer of mgba.
Edit: speaking of mgba... @Gericom have you tried talking to endrift? He seems to have extensive knowledge on gba hardware and emulation. I know gbarunner2 isn't emulation but I wonder if he could help in anyway?

If a game doesn't work on ds, could you try on 3ds and if it works add it to the wiki as working with a note about it working on 3ds or so? It's important for me to know which games just don't work because of memory things or because of more complicated reasons.
Sure, I can do that. I will do it with the latest master release then.

Could you also actually mark them with the right color if it works on 3ds? Because it is kinda confusing if they are still dark gray. And then don't put "Doesn´t work with the 3DS." Because it almost seems then as if the game works even worse on 3ds :P

You're still doing great work regardless!

I think Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas - The Pumpkin King (UE) has the same/similiar issue that Densetsu Stafy 3 (J) has.
Flicker on both screen after bios intro. Crash reason: Hblank dma to io.
Ah, interesting. The flicker is caused by dma writes to the vcount register (that's why it is on both screens). On gba that register is not writable.

Negima! Private Lessons crashes after the battle tutorial and I couldn't make it to the start menu to save the game. Also, the English translation of the Japanese version of Mega Man Battle Network 6 freezes when you press start. Groove Adventure Rave has an issue where the game freezes sometimes when loading the final battle up and it didn't load at all when I played as Reina. All these games were played on the latest version of GBARunner2.

I had a few other games that I had tested a few weeks ago on the old version and again after the update:
Hajime no Ippo - The Fighting! (English patched) - Works before and after (both versions have loud screeching while saving).

Gensou Suikoden Card Stories (English Patched) - Froze selecting new game before, playable with heavy graphical fragments after.

Dragon Quest Monsters Caravan Heart (English Patched) - Froze just after the title screen before, playable without issue after. (It was mentioned that the Japanese version was playable but where to save couldn't be figured out. The first save point is at the Caravan through the Nun in the tent).

Napoleon - L'Aigle de Guerre (English Patched)- Playable without issue before and after.

Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls (Mod of Balance v2.2 - NOT 3.3) - Before, FF1 would freeze after the early game Goblin would cast Protect (in the vanilla game, there is a late game monster who can use protect, but I don't know if that causes freezing), and FF2 was playable. After, not only both plays without problem, but almost all graphical issues with the title screen and in-game is gone (very rarely seen when a text box is opening).

I also had some notes I meant to leave when I made the last post, but didn't because my time was cut short:

I mentioned before that Blazing Emerald and Sigma Emerald that had the same problem, where after Zigzagoon used Growl everything came to a crawl. Well I wanted to say that the Emerald based CAWPS as well as one of the Fire Red hacks didn't have this problem.

Usually in a Pokémon game pressing X will align the music back to how it should be, but for any of the games running in the high memory mode this doesn't happen (it will fix further dy-syncing and crackling that occasionally happens, and ones with more features tends to have greater lagging).

Pokémon Vega crashes right before the title screen, yet Pokémon Vega Minus, which is a hack that only serves to lower the difficulty, works just fine.

I use a R4 Dual-core flashcart ordered from China, I use a Sandisk sd card 16 gb 4 classes,
I tried to format the USB flash drive in FAT 32 4kb cluster, also in 32kb
tried different releases of arm7 and arm9,
Patched games using the gbata program,
The result is the same black screen, does not load anything.
