So, recently, i have spent A LOT of time looking for a wii u emulator for 3ds .Sadly, i couldnt find any. So i thought, is there any change one of you guys know anything. Or is it possible to convert wii u roms/games to .cia, so it can simply be on the home menu.

Thanks already

You can mod it to look like MK8....

Actually you are wrong! I found assets of mario kart, realistic models and sounds, music, everything! So if i now use unity for 3ds, i can export to cia, so i can make my own costum games!! When its done, i will share a video!

(Btw even if this works, im gonna buy a switch anyways, but i like experimenting with this sort of thing)

Just so you know, even displaying a single character model from Mario Kart 8 (without karts, other players, tracks or anything) may be far more than the 3DS can handle regardless of the resolution. Models are significantly simplified when Wii U games are ported to the 3DS (like Hyrule Warriors) to account for its much lower capabilities (although this is often not very noticeable due to the small screen and low resolution). To simplify Wii U models for the 3DS would mean you would need to go through every 3D model in the game and manually edit it as well as reducing the resolution of all the textures. That's why, for instance, Super Mario 64 doesn't look anything like as good as Mario Odyssey. The Nintendo 64 is a much weaker system than the Switch, so models have to be very simple for the N64 to be able to display them. It is the same with the 3DS, it needs to have much simpler assets (models, special effects, etc.) to run a game than the Wii U.

Here is an interesting video that might help you understand. It is about the evolution of Mario 3D models from the N64 to the Wii U. The number of "tris" they mention that each model has is important. Each system has a number of tris that it can display a second. The less powerful a system is, generally, the fewer can be displayed. The model of Mario in Mario Kart 7 (3DS) had 471 tris, while the model of Mario in Super Mario 3D World (Wii U) had 9,128. This was only possible because the Wii U was able to display many more tris a second. Of course, more tris are also needed at all times to display level itself and other players.

Also, just assets like character models and music is far less than you need to make a game. You also need to write all the code, which is the most difficult job of all. This includes all the code for CPU player AI, which you would need to write yourself from scratch.

@everyone else - I know this is a massive simplification, but it may still help OP understand slightly.

To be completely honest, your best bet for something like mario kart 8 on 3ds would be to mod mario kart 7 with new tracks and characters. While it will still require a lot of work and possibly code changes, it's probably not the best thing for one person to tackle alone.

The people that said this isn’t possible WERE WHRONG, i did it, i played it on my O3DS without a problem. On Teusday evening i will show a video!!! OMG im so happy.

(before u guys gonna be like, this must be fake or this is impossible, let me explain how i did it first)

so i went online, to see if there were any streaming (Destkop-3DS), just like there was the moonlight app for ps vita. I found a video, about streaming your pc screen to DS screen. So i decided to give it a try. Ofcourse, since its going with internet, you cant play it everywhere, and the graphics will never look as good, though, this is still possible. (I used CEMU To emulate mk8 on pc, and then stream it to my 3ds), and it was so amazing, to even see it running.
(The App is called pinbox, if u guys wanna try it, or are interested)

so, however, u guys were right about one thing, and that is the fact that its impossible to emulate mk 8 on a 3ds.

if u guys want some proof, i will upload at Tuesday.

Bye, see ya alll

You know the only thing worse than believing it is possible to emulate a Wii U (or even a Wii) on a 3DS is not knowing when you are being trolled.
Especially when you keep getting trolled over and over in the same thread.

So, people on this thread, have been very skeptical (dont know if i spelled that right) anyways, i have came up with a potential idea of doing this. By making CT for mk7 wich maybe could work. Now, after i have looked in at creating CT, i noticed a few things:

1: a 3DS indeed doesn’t rely on resolution, but trisses and polygons.

2: A 3DS can only handle up to 4000 poly’s and 10000 trisses at once (though, its recommend to use up to 5000 (i have asked the CTGP-7 community))

3: this must be possible since mario kart ds deluxe can do this (now i know that MKDSDX is not the best rom hack, but this shows off something)

so, indeed, you guys were right about almost everything, i just didn’t understand shit when i started this thread (i should have researched a bit before, im an idiot), atleast, im working on this now, and i am gonna try finishing this. (Ofcourse this is not easy, but im gonna try my very best), i hope i can share it one day.

I was pretty much thinking of the same thing.
Good luck on porting the MK8 tracks to MK7 though.

This guy is asking a 3ds to emulate the wii u.Do you know that your basically asking a nes to emulate a n64 right?
Or a SNES to emulate a GameCube.

the situation has been solved though, so shoo

There's no reason to be rude about this. If you don't have a technical background it is perfectly reasonable to not understand these things. Resolution and framerate are the obvious factors people talk about these days when talking about powerful computers (e.g. a game being 720p 30fps on Switch, 4k 60fps on Xbox One X). I can understand how some may not realise there is much more to it than that.
