I tried downgrading 3.73 to 3.65 using modoru, and it soft bricked my PS vita.
I got an error midway through downgrading, now everytime I turn on my ps vita, nothing but a black screen. I can still access safe mode but with only the option "Update system software". When I try to update through PC, it just says "It's already on the most current version."

I tried using QCMA, using custom PS vita versions "03.730.000" and "03.720.000", with the correct .pup file, but nothing works. I still get the same error.
Would using a ps3, or having PSvita memory card with the most current or previous firmware help solve my issue? *I dont have either
I would appreciate if anyone could help, I'm honestly at my wits end.

1- uninstall the qcma, the content manager assistant.
2- delete all data including folders and drivers.
3- Download all the programs again and version 3.73 install everything and put version 3.73 in the PSV Update folder.
4- Restart the PC and start all programs.
5- turn on the ps vita in recovery mode select update via pc, then connect the ps vita to the pc and on the vita screen you will get a new update.

NOTE in case it does not work look for a pc where you have never connected the vita and follow the steps above.

EDIT: This is if u have C3-12027-2 on 7% update. Black Screen and blue PS logo on. Also, using modoru v1.0 instead of mordoru v2.1

I have the same issue this fix for me.

A Simple fix.
  1. Get out of recovery mode.
  2. Turn on the psvita let it stay on black screen with blue light Playstation logo around 1 minute.
  3. Then go Recovery/safe mode
  4. Plug in ur psvita usb to pc. Then try it. Should work.
If not
Same thing but keep the usb plugged in and wait at least 5min this time

The problem is the psvita usb. The more u do it. It overload the usb receiving from your pc to your vita.
Also I interrupted the software update which bug the update.

idk if this gonna fix for u but it fix for me.

Also I realize I download v1.0 Modoru instead of V2.1 which Is why i got this problem haha

I thought there were a load of threads here that explained how to force the upgrade from a pc

for example https://gbatemp.net/threads/3-72-soft-brick-help.547207/

Loads of people seem to have been affected.

https://www.psx-place.com/threads/m...owngrader-3-65-3-72-by-thefl0w-skgleba.26020/

Yes, forgot to state my problem which is not related with this problem. fixed from last post. Other then that this is the problem I have.
  • I was on Firmware 3.73.
  • Downloaded Modulo v1.0 (Which is the wrong version)
  • Downgrade to 3.72
  • Update ERROR forgot what it say but something along the way of "Restarting PSVita to update the system".
  • Then cannot update. Just stuck loop.
  • If u hold power button, restarting it, its gonna be black screen with blue light on PS button. Or trying to update Psvita loop Error

Two ways to update the PSvita from qcma. Force psp2-updatelist.xml file check. And disable it.

1. I update using qcma. check psp2-updatelist.xml all us region.
Stuck on C3-12027-2 on 7% update.
2. Then disable check psp2-updatelist.xml.
Still Stuck on C3-12027-2 on 7% update.

Let the PSVita go to black screen and Blue logo for 1 minute.

Then went back to update with disable check psp2-updatelist.xml and it work

Its very risky free, IF you read instructions carefully, just make sure to use Modoru 2.1 if you are on fw 3.73.
I'm very new to the vita scene and I was able to go from new vita on fw 3.73 to fully hacked vita running fw 3.65 in a matter of minutes. Just follow THE vitahacks guide and your console should be safe!

ah thanks a lot for the reassurance!

quick question though, if thats ok (anyone is free to answer too, ofc)
which is better/most desired, 3.65 or 3.60?

I can only assume 3.60 because the guide says so xd

No worries its not Hard Brick just soft brick say so from modoru SKGleba's github. Just silly mistakes. Make sure you read carefully and reread and carefully do it if you want to be safe thats all.

There is some difference from both but they both can run ENSO. It is a CFW for the Vita.
This is during way back in my time. One of the problem was because games above 3.69 cannot be played on lower firmware now thanks to reF00D. Since I only use the vita for browsing a lot. I dont game it much. I use it to browse and stream. I cannot download psvita plugins from github with download enabler. Because of SSL website communication problem. Thanks to iTLS-Enso which fix it. lucky u

Other than that, no worries :yay:

I don't know to much about all the differences between 3.60 and 3.65, what I understand is that henkaku is easier to install in 3.60, and apparently the community recommends to stay in lower firmwares given that those fws present less security measures, and low firmware versions could be more compatibles with potential new homebrew/hacking tools/plugins/exploits (cfw, etc.)
But from what I've read, they are kind of the same thing in terms of what you can and cannot do as an end user.
*Also apparently some games needed some compatibility patches to run in firmware 3.60, I don't know if that is still necessary, but in in 3.65 very few games need additional treatment to run, only one of my installed games needed it.

At the end the reason that made me choose 3.65 is just my own philosophy, I try to be in a version as new as possible (obviously without sacrificing benefits) cause in my heart I believe that all those Sony updates must have improved something in the console, somehow, at least a little, I can't believe that their only reason for releasing updates is to patch exploits.

Usually I do the same, but 3.60 is easier to setup and can do everything 3.65 can (and more if you use some ancient homebrew) & I'm not aware of anything 3.65 has that 3.60 doesn't. So I ended up on 3.60.
