Im sorry if this has been asked before. Say I reported an issue and it was closed. Am i supposed to wait for the new version/release of the app or can I download/merge the new code somehow. If so, how?
Thanks and sorry again.

you can build the github repo's source code (building instructions are found in the readme.md file in the repo)

When I initially load it, it says:
"Error during startup: 0xFFFFFFFF
Aditional assets download failed
always make sure you're connected to the internet and on the latest version"
even though I'm online and on v6.2.1-f8657b3

i wish someone would post the latest aditional assets here if its possible to place them manually in a folder and start the tool without internet

Does anyone have a guide on how to use PKSM when I'm playing DS games from nds-bootstrap(Twilight Menu++).

I can't find any guides online, I just want to edit some Pokemon for my playthrough of Storm Silver. I'm stuck with the flagbrew guide they have online for the json file.

I've restored the new back up but when I open PKSM I can't see the Storm Silver game anywhere. The files portion needed the address of the sav file, did I do this right?
  • /roms/nds/saves/Pokemon - SoulSilver Version (USA)_patched.sav

that's the address of the sav file in Twilight Menu++

Thanks a bunch!

EDIT:
used this address but still nothing
  • /3ds/PKSM/backups/saves/StormSilver.sav

You can't use PKSM with nds-bootstrap games, only cartridges for gen 4 and 5 games, while for gen 6 and 7 you can use both cartridge saves and installed on the SD card ones because it doesn't support the old .sav saves of nds-bootstrap unless they are inside the cartridge itself (meaning not on SD card). Just PkHeX for it, that one supports nds-bootstrap saves.

Does it do it with default installation? No. There's a reason it's called "advanced feature" and requires knowing about JSON files for one method or just lots of work for the other. It's much simpler to just use PkHeX if you are gonna go through all that trouble honestly. So again, default PKSM can't read nds-bootstrap saves from the SD card. I just said "can't" not "completely impossible", don't get so butthurt there:P

In PkHex, there is a tab that keeps track of trainer information such as the original trainer's (OT) TID, SID, and their name as well as an option to see that Pokemon's memories. There is also a section that is titled "Latest (not OT) Handler" where the name of the Pokemon's current trainer is in ORAS.
What I noticed after using PKSM is that if I catch a Pokemon like Psyduck in X/Y and bring it over to ORAS using the Bank feature (so just a transfer between generation six games) I found that while the original trainer information remains intact, the portion that says "Latest (not OT) Handler" remains unaltered meaning PKSM is not altering the Pokemon that is being transferred to reflect the fact that it was brought to a different game than the one it originated from. In addition to this, the memories of the Pokemon are also not being altered to show that it has two memories: one of its previous trainer in XY and one of its current trainer in ORAS.
I would like to stress that this is a transfer using the Bank feature between two games of the same generation not from something like generation four to generation five.
If at all possible, it would be nice to have PKSM feature this functionality.

Hi I'm having some issues, hoping maybe you guys can help.

My main goal was to simply move all the Pokemon from my PokeBank to my computer as individual .pkmn files for backup.

The PokeBank access is it's own issue; I have two 11.2 SoundHax hacked 3ds (n3DS and o3DS XL), and I'm already unable to access PokeBank without updating my firmware.

But I figured that as long as I can get the Pokemon to my cart, I can then export them all with PKSM. I thought this was a feature it had.

Well I started messing with the version I had installed and couldn't actually figure out how to do this. I don't want the bank.bin export, I'm trying to save each Pokemon as an individual file. When I looked here it sounded like there was a way to do this in PKSM still. Problem was, I was running old version 4.4.2. the current is up to 7.x and has a lot of extra features

So I downloaded the .cia for the latest release of PKSM and tried to install it. It over wrote my old 4.4.2 with 7.0. Except the new 7.0 does not run because I don't have Lima.

That's when I dug through the release notes and saw that SoundHax support was dropped with release 5.1.4. So, I downloaded the .cia for that version, and many older versions, and tried installing them. None of them work. When I load PKSM, it either just gives me a blank screen, or it gives me the black screen saying "Homebrew" and nothing else.

The worst part is that this is the case for every version I try from 4.3 - 5.1.4. None of them work, not even the 4.4 that I had before. I'm now left without any working version of PKSM at all.

What is the best solution for this? I had been avoiding updating the 3DS to whatever the latest Hax or Luma thing is because I don't need any new features, I have a huge backlog of games on it that don't need to be messed with at all. I honestly don't even remember what stuff is even installed on here, I hacked it years ago, so getting it updated just to get my Pokemon exported is gonna be overkill I think. But I can't figure out how to even get any version of PKSM working now. And ofc I'm also not sure how I'm supposed to get access to PokeBank without fucking up the hacks on at least one of my 3ds; not sure if I can just grab a used current 3DS and export them without running into Nintendo Account issues?

Any suggestions? Thanks.
