TX Presents SX OS v2.9 BETA - With Full v9.0 Firmware Support!

NEW UPDATE FIXES UPGRADE ISSUES!

PLEASE USE V2.9.1b INSTEAD OF 2.9

YOU CAN NOW USE CHOIDUJOURNX 1.0.2 WITH 2.9.1b

**********************************************

Good day, fans and believers! We hope you are all having a good weekend.

SXOS29.png

Team-Xecuter has done it again, they have updated their world-famous SX OS to now support the latest v9.0 Switch firmware from Nintendo.
Today, we bring you a much needed update of SX OS. Full compatibility with the latest Switch firmware 9.0! Sorry that we kept you waiting, we wanted to make sure all our unique features still properly work.

Additionally, we also introduced support for the "Horizon split format". This means that people who use FAT32 can have folders named 'game.xci' with split parts contained therein (named 00, 01, 02, etc.). Make sure the folder has the 'archive' bit set.

We know you are waiting for some other big features in SX OS, they are coming.. We wanted to get this compatibility update out first though.

So what are you waiting for? SX OS 2.9 beta is available for download on our website now! (and also through the builtin online updater part of SX OS.)

Was reading on the TX forums that some people are getting instantly banned from using sx os 2.9. Is it possible that some telemetry is getting through? Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Probably not. I think its more of a bad coincidence. A new firmware update is usually an excuse for some people to go online and update their firmware. They think Stealth Mode has been protecting them this entire time so they can disable it for a second and then realize Stealth Mode was merely delaying the inevitable.

tl;dr Stealth Mode doesn't really prevent bans

Why are alot of people updating to 9.0.0 anyway?
There are NO games that require 9.0.0.
Just wait for TX to release a stable update then all will be good.

Dual boot online I guess

I like to always have my emunand updated for the simple reason of being able to update using the system instead of hunting NSP's left and right.

I can just click plus and internet update.

I don't care about burned fuses etc...

I'm not banned so far and I have a second switch for the games I buy and play online.

Hence why you should use incognito on your emunand - and install nsp's and thinks like that to it. Then keep your System nand clean - only for legit stuff.......as has been said, many - many - many times already.

I just updated SXOS with though my switch. I then hit restart instead of turn off. (I have not updated to latest switch firmware, i'm on 8.1) and I couldn't boot into SXOS with the dongle. I copied the new boot.dat to my SD card from the site and still can't, I then tried an old SD card without the latest boot.dat and it still won't boot into cfw.

Any ideas? I'm getting a screen flash, did this somehow overwrite the auto rcm or some shit?

edit: apperently all sorts of issues with this update. Should have read the thread SMH. It looks like the new doom 1-2 update needs the latest firmware so I updated my SXOS. Should have just used a homebrew doom port.

Wait what? You are going online with your Emunand? Have you disabled stealth mode?

I don't have custom themes I think (if that just means backrounds or something) I put everything on 2.8 again and it worked for all the SD cards. Don't know why 2.9 wouldn't boot on 8.1 firmware but i'm staying away from this update.

I mean with Incognito, its the same issue as emuNAND. Once you restore your PRODINFO, you risk a ban. Staying offline is easy. Not going online with a hacked console is the hard part. What really prevents bans is a clean NAND.

Can someone give a definitive guide on what to do for SX Users?

I am on Sysnand 8.1
Emunand - tried to update to 9.0 with Choi 1.01 and SX2.9

Obviously, like everyone else I got stuck downloading the new OS... now when i boot to emuNand I have a black screen.

Is there any way to recover emunand? I'm okay with completely restoring my emuNand - tried that but that didn't work either.

Need some help lol... what is the step by step?

Other notes - I am okay with completely wiping EmuNand and restarting. Is this possible?

It happened exactly the same to me. SX 2.9 boots fine with Sysnand on old firmware, but it can't boot Emunand with new firmware. Yes, you can wipe Emunand and it will be back with the original firmware that you have on Sysnand, but you would lose all save data in Emunand. If you want to do that, boot SX while pressing volume UP, then choose to format Emunand. But I don't want to format it. I want to be able to recover my save data there. Is it possible to access Emunand save data from Sysnand?

Hi Legends,

Like a few other people (100s/1000s) LOL I am also screwed. Was running 8.1 on emunand and then decided to upgrade fw to 9.0 with Choi 1.1 and got the same flashing firmware stuck screen.

Now my switch wont boot into sx os even though I replaced 2.9 beta with 2.8.

What do I need to do to get past this issue? I have a hidden emunand partition on my sd card. I cannot even boot into sx os.

Do i just need to format the memory card and loose all my games/saves and start from scratch? I did remember backing up my nand in the sx os menu way back in the start before i did anything. How do I restore this nand because i cannot boot into sx os menu?

Any little help I would greatly appreciate guys!!!!!

WHY DID I DO THIS WITHOUT READING HERE FIRST! YAY! AM SO FARKED!

HAHAH!

Sorry I can see an Emunintendo folder on my memory card and it is a huge folder with over 450GB. Does that mean the emunand i created is not a hidden partition but a visible one?

Could i do anything to boot up and restore my nand?

Please anybody :)

Thanks

For those who want to reformat Emunand with existing Sysnand version, just boot SX while pressing Volume UP. Can anyone confirm it worked?

no. emunand hidden partition occupies ~28-32gb on your SD card, not viewable by standard means on windows PCs. the emutendo folder is whatever occupied your nintendo folder pre-emunand plus whatever contents you have installed to your emunand cfw since then (e.g. games/saves/EVERYTHING that isnt homebrew)

also, you can certainly boot into sx menu, nothing you've done should prevent this. you 'should' have autoRCM installed, push the SX payload, hold + (or minus?) immediately.

why would this not work? that's exactly how it works. since we don't know how this process is done, you may want to format or clean your microSD beforehand. you can do this in windows with the preferred tool here fat32formatter (windows will try to force NTFS/exFAT on disks over 32gb, hence a 3rd party tool is needed)

you can also burn gparted as a liveCD, which is always useful to have anyways and perform this operation there. this may be overkill, may be unnecessary, but it takes such a small amount of time and mitigates any (potential) shortcomings SX menu has formatting your microSD.

don't know how well hekate+nyx works without manual preparation, but i'd probably do the same for that.
i strongly prefer hekate for my backup/dumping purposes. it is much more refined, logical, and easier to work with.

I am doing exactly what you have said but after the sxos initial boot up screen it just goes to the Nintendo logo and then blank black screen.

I an evening putting in my jig just in case. The sxos boot up screen just does not stay on so I can do anything via the sxos boot menu.

do I have to push the payload via my pc?

‘thanks a ton my man. I will buy the person who helps me get this going a beer or two so at least I can get into boot.

thanks again for helping

So the way people are fixing this shitty situation is to load atmosphere. The cfw that actually works properly yet you lot run back to sxos even though you now have atmosphere working on your switch. Oh and atmosphere doesn't ruin gamecart fuses either. Guess you can't help stupid.

Oh but I want xci support you say. What are you going to do when tx fail to continue support?

Also where is garry in the last 19 pages huh. Hiding like tx are. Sxos is a shitstorm atm. I hope for the tx fans tx sort there shit out quick smart. Not fair for anyone to have bricked consoles.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.

Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
