As I see in the forums it is not possible to emulate punch out (nes) in said flashcard, do you know any kind of solution so that the game can be emulated in a decent way? It is that I get severe graphic errors and I have read the forum looking for information about it but it is not clear to me. Thank you.

You can use the NES emu "HVCA". It runs Punch Out without Many glitches compared to pocketnes.

Ah ok thanks for the information. Is there any tutorial on how to put said emulator to play it on ez omega? Since the emulators come in the firmware I don't know how to add more emulators

use the pogo shell addon "custom firmware" @kuwanger made:
Link

or, alternatively you could use @Sterophonick 's SimpleLight theme that includes the patch to the latest omega firmware.
But, if you do not like that theme you can go back to @kuwanger 's patch but also not be on the latest firmware.
@Sterophonick 's theme simplifies things a lot by including all the needed software in one tight bundle of a zip archive

Hope this helps! :yaysp:

Edit: the tutorials are on the threads I have linked
Edit2: If you can find a pogoshell plugin for your NES emu of choice, @kuwanger 's website has a util that can patch it for use on flashcards without native pogo support. just place the patched pogo plugin in the PLUG dir in your TF card

Good again, I followed as you have indicated the installation of SimpleLight in version 1.6 with kernel 1.04 and firmware 6, it is not the last official updated version of kernel but if it works well I do not care. I have tried SMS roms and they are perfect, those of NeoGeo Pocket Color are unplayable and Spectrum also works very well. The problem is that to play punch out you tell me to put the HVCA emulator, but I don't know where to get the plugin to put it inside the PLUG folder in SYSTEM. Could you tell me where to get plugins? Thank you all for your help, you are very kind.

if you read the whole post there is a updated kernel download (go to one of the last pages and it'll be there).
for the pogo shell plugin of HVCA, I did some searching on https://www.zophar.net/consoles/gameboy/nes.html and found that there is no pogo shell plugin for HVCA afaik.
sorry 'bout that.
otherwise, on the link i linked you could download hvca as a "patch" to your nes rom of punchout that'll convert it to a gba rom to be playable.

Thank you for your unselfish help, it is true that on page 4 goes SimpleLight for version 2.5 and has updated it to the latest kernel version available thanks. As I see you indicate that the HVCA emulator for pogo shell does not exist as a plugin to use it in the flashcard, however you indicate that I can convert my rom of nes to gba format and so the flashcard will read it without problems, I have entered the link q you tell me and I have downloaded FC Emulator
for Gameboy (This emulator basically converts NES roms to the Gameboy
format. Just run NES2GB.exe, and make sure to give it the NES filename.) I have put the rom of nes, I have executed it using cmd both as administrator and without it and it gives me an error indicating me
"D: \ Downloads \ fcgb2> NES2GB.EXE Punch-Out.nes
FC-Emulator for GameBoy
error: not supported "

Do you know or can you think of a different way to run this rom on the flashcard? I say it because it is a game from my childhood that I would love to play there. Thanks again for everything really. Greetings.

have you tried downloading HVCA and running the batch file in the download?

edit: to be brutally honest i haven't even used hvca and am frantically searching for a tuto for me to link for u.

edit2: it looks like that u have to put your nes rom in the "add" dir

Good again, if I executed the batch file and put the rom of nes in the site that you indicate, the script is executed but nothing happens, in the menu it asks you

Select CART driver for HARD-RESET

1: FA, F2A (256)
2: EZ1, XG1
3: EZFA
4: Ignore

No matter what option you select that nothing happens, I will have to leave it impossible to play punch out, it's a shame.

Could you tell me how to run this emulator in EZ Flash Omega? Thank you.

yeah it sucks.

but, the updated version of pocketNES has better, (but not perfect), compatibility with punchout!

How:
  1. I downloaded v9.97 from https://www.zophar.net/consoles/gameboy/nes/pocketnes.html.
  2. unzip the file and move the pocketnes.gba to /SYSTEM/PLUG/ and rename it nes.gba
  3. run your punchout rom
this isn't perfect but is far more playable

@zerofalcon
Doing what I indicated the emulation of the game improves a lot, makes it quite playable, the savestates / loadstates works in the emulator, but if you give it to reset or you leave the emulator in the menu it hangs and never returns to the menu of the flashcard, turn off and on the console to know why.

I come again to say that with the 9.97 pocketnes version many other games that work well with the native version do not go well, so to win a game and lose many I leave it as it was. I hope that the partner @zerofalcon as above showed photo of the game in advance sp running perfectly tells us how to do it. Thanks again to everyone and especially to @izder456 in case of great help.

I compiled a .gba and run it direct without pogoshell. I have a link on My PC with instructions to compile the NES games for HVCA, ill post it as soon as posible. Btw sorry for the late reply.
Do not worry, too much you do with posting, thanks for your help and without hurry, when you can is not something important. Greetings.

Post again to indicate that thanks to the advice and help of @izder456 and the idea of @zerofalcon I have managed to inject in a file .bin of game boy advance the emulator HVCA with the rom of nes Punch Out that does not work on the emulator Pocketnes included natively in the kernel of EZ Flash Omega. This way I avoid having to update the "series" nes emulator that has a good performance in other games and a high compatibility, that to fix a rom spoiled me many others.

I found the solution here:

https://ezflash.sosuke.com/wiki/index.php?title=NES

I have followed all the steps of the tutorial and the rom works perfect, even has the option of save/load states.

What I did was download HVCA 1.40 from here:

https://pdroms.de/files/nintendo-gameboyadvance-gba/hvca-v1-40

and then insert in the folder add the rom of nes in question along with its configuration file included in the folder cfg since for that game is necessary, both rename them with the same name and each file with its corresponding extension and run the file "merge.bat", the resulting file hvca.bin rename it to my liking keeping the extension and everything works correctly. You can even put more roms together in case you have problems in pocketnes with them but as I was only interested in that one, meti only punch out.

When you start the emulator for the first time asks you to confirm some options, that in my case always select in the two questions that makes you the first option and we enter the emulator menu with the injected roms, execute and play. To enter the emulator menu by pressing L is enough and we will see all available options. That if to exit the emulator and load another emulator or roms it is necessary to turn off the console, since, it does not give option to exit to the main menu of EZ Flash Omega.

I hope with my comment to help other users in the future as I have been helped by the users I have mentioned and serve if anyone wants to play the rom as it should. Greetings to all.

@rosmander the link that you put for the tutorial is no longer valid. I am trying to do the same thing you did. Were you able to load HVCA onto the EZ Flash? Or did you have to do something else. If you could help me out that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Update: I managed to start HVCA as an emulator on the flashcard. However, I am wondering were you able to use the emulator HVCA with the default firmware or did you have to download and install simple light on the card?
