So, I tried out the new update for a few games... (of which I'm still using .gdi files because I don't have a Patreon with money coming in like crazy that'd allow yours truly to stay home and do stuff and report my findings whenever. Not that I'm asking for money, of course, because I'm not outputting anything online, let alone starting a career on something like YT that's going down the shitter more and more as each month passes by!)
MVC2 (DC): Still runs slow. Possibly runs slower than it did before. IDK if using similar in-house engines was a thing in the late 90's/early 2000's at this point for something like fighting games, but considering the next game's performance, this one running slow, hell, 2D running slow in general is just so weird to me considering it's usually the 3D that's more demanding when it comes to emulators!
CVS2 (DC): Runs practically perfect, with no fucked up sprites and just some frame drops here and there. Here's what confuses me: I know MVC2 could be considered more demanding because more sprites have to be loaded into RAM, more stuff has to be called upon with how the tag team mechanics work and everything. But outside of the backgrounds being more advanced than what's in CVS2 here, I don't really see how I could be getting less than 30fps on the game!
Soul Calibur: Runs about how it did before, but the graphics are glitchier (?) than the previous build? Either that, or I didn't change some settings back.
I'm gonna transfer some more games over to my microSD card so I can have more to reference going forward. If I feel like going out of my way to change the games exclusive to NAOMI/Atomiswave and that don't have an equivalent native port on Switch to .chds, I'll include those as well when I get around to it. Will .chds be associated with Flycast, though? It seems like .chds are becoming the new hot trend for compressing games larger than SNES/N64 games down to more manageable sizes.
