Ok, I'm not even sure if it's 9.0.0-related - but I am not familiar with the code.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I tried it earlier on Kosmos/Atmosphere 0.9.4, firmware 8.1.0. Worked just fine.
Strange, I got a "corrupted intstall" message when I tried to use Tinfoil with stock Atmo 0.9.4. Then maybe it is 9.0.0-related after all.

Hi, I updated to 8.1 for playing Zelda LA remake, and now it happened when I start any game, and press "home" button back to the main screen (game running in background), when I go through the album try to getting in hb menu, my switch crashs and restarts.

I updated atmosphere, kosmos, hbmenu, hbl and the error persists, any help please?

Thanks!

Looking at the three problems with the 9.0 release, the first just needs homebrew to be updated, while for the third, having both sysnand and emummc on 9.0 will allow game carts to work... I think? If I'm wrong on that please let me know.

The second part, the FS dependency, is where I need a "for dummies" version, or at least what doesn't work anymore. The description calls it frustrating, although a Reddit post claims that it "just doesn't use 3.0 speeds which is buggy anyway", but I'm guessing it's more to it than that.

Hello there!

yesterday I decided it was time to take out my dusted 4.1.0 switch and go full haxing.

Currently I am following the guide from switch.homebrew.guide using PegaScape (Caffeine) and I am stuck at step 2: injecting fake news. When I tap the album icon, the screen shows nothing, hbmenu doesn’t load. Just the switch icon at the bottom and the (A) ok option appears but nothing else.

What do I do now? I am following the guide exactly as it says.

Thanks in advance!

Fair enough - and I mean it. But let me ask you an honest question: is there anything else to discover and download new games, updates, DLC? Thanks.
Not directly from the switch, no. I just find the games I want and use usb install.

If you really want to keep using blawar's sketchy app, here's a mod to fix its problematic behaviour up a bit.

Try holding the "R" button as you run the album. If it did not work, you probably would need to track back on the step which involves the proper setting for the hbmenu.

Yes, it's called the Nintendo eShop, you shitty pirate. ;)
Guilty as charged. Accrual Expert badge on Steam, though. :ninja:

Brilliant, thanks! Edit: Still won't work with stock Atmo, though.

hi, updated to 9.0.0 through choidujournx, using sysnand cfw since i don't care for online. now i can't boot 9.0.0 cfw, only ofw, i get a black screen if i boot syscfw. anything i can do?

also, atmosphère and hekate are at their latest versions (or they should be, i dragged the files and replaced existing ones)

for good measure, deleted atmosphere, bootloader, sept and switch folders and copied again the latest versions of stuff as per https://nh-server.github.io/switch-guide/user_guide/emummc/sd_preparation/

still, black screen. no nintendo logo.

i don't have any gamecart on, now that i'm reading about it.

BUT. sysnand with ofw DOES boot, therefore the upgrade was successful. it's just that atmo doesn't like it? i don't know. deleted every folder but the Nintendo folder this time, set up the sd with the proper files, same thing. any ideas?

Try beginning from a clean slate by deleting every file in your micro-SD Card, except for the Nintendo folder, and use the latest files of Kosmos. This is basically Atmosphere pre-packaged and pre-configured for easier and straightforward installation.

I deleted every folder but the Nintendo folder and tried with Kosmos. Still, nothing. I'm going to try with a different sd card to see if it's a fat32 thing now.

I'm running Kosmos/Atmosphere on an ExFAT-formatted Lexar 256Gb micro-SDXC and had no problem with it, whatsoever. In all my time of using a micro-SD Card in ExFAT (Sandisk 128Gb one at the time), I never encountered the dreaded corruption issue. I say go for the ExFAT.

thanks but i can't do anything besides trying fat32 since nothing else has worked.
