Make sure you're using the latest signature patches. Make sure you are installing the games and not just the game updates.
Where does one find these signature patches?

Just google Goldleaf signature patch latest or do I need them for the specific nsp files as well?

Did that, but now atmosphere won't boot correctly. Only the initial load screen appears that says sept and then the switch turns off.

Should I revert back to my directory before the addition of these patches?
I don't know your setup. I recommend the following steps:
  1. Make a NAND backup with Hekate if you haven't already. Store it somewhere safe.
  2. Remove all CFW files/folders from your SD card (that would be folders like /sept/ and /atmosphere/)
  3. Download the latest Atmosphere from github (currently 0.9.4)
  4. Download the latest fusee-primary (next to Atmosphere)
  5. Download these signature patches
  6. Put Atmosphere and the signature patches onto your SD card
  7. Put the SD into your Switch
  8. Launch Atmosphere using fusee-primary

Use this version of Tinfoil: https://github.com/coniventia/tinfoilmod-releases/releases

The error you're receiving is because of some malware included in the Tinfoil package that you smartly skipped that Tinfoil notices is missing. Nothing is corrupt.

question about the launching fusee-primary
i've been booting into hekate then from there loading atmos emmc if I add the fusee-primary to payloads and launch from there is it loading the emmc still? or it's just basically doing the same thing?

Is there any way to install NSP files to the switch via an external hard drive connected to a dock?
You can install NSP files from an SD card, from your computer connected via USB, or from your computer over FTP. You can also install NSP files over the internet using something like HBG. If you choose HBG or DZ Tinfoil, this version of Tinfoil is recommended since the official version now includes malware for Atmosphere users.

If you're going to use fusee-primary with emuNAND, you need to make the proper adjustments to the configuration files for it to boot the emuNAND. If you want to easily switch between emuNAND and sysNAND, you should use Hekate instead of fusee-primary.

Fusee-primary will boot the sysNAND if you don't direct it to boot the emuNAND, yes.

Merely launching Atmosphere and doing nothing else probably won't dirty the NAND, but it should be avoided.

So, now that I have nsp files working correctly I guess the next step would be xci ones for the bigger more robust games such as The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.

Since I need to split the xci to fit onto my FAT32 microSD is there a splitter for OSX that can convert to nsp as well?

If this is a waste of time because xci converted to nsp can't be patched please let me know asap.

I'm a little stuck, I have a file based Emunand, but it runs very slow, it takes several minutes to be able to play anything, I'm using the latest Atmosphere release as well as hekate 5.0.2. I think I should change to a partition Emunand but I don't know if I can migrate my file based Emunand, what's my best option?

There is no reason to use XCI files over NSP files. If you're installing them, it's the same thing. You can either split your NSP files, or you can install your NSP files over USB or FTP.

File-based emuNAND is not recommended, and you should make the switch. The file-based emuNAND can be migrated to the new emuNAND partition.

Yes Laclus, except my switch has a firmware version of 9.0.0 therefore I cannot run ReiNX or sxos for use with the xci files.

I'll have to convert them to nsp, split and install with Goldleaf, correct or is there another way?

Anyone know which ftp is the fastest for transferring to the switch?

I used to use the sx os one, and usually got pretty good speed (a couple of MB/s), but now sys ftp on Atmosphere only gives me about 1 MB/s...

Any suggestion if there is something faster to use (apart from just mtp...)?
