Just checking in, since it's been a while...has anyone added a virtual keyboard to DOSBox yet?? I see that RetroArch is still getting updates (unlike most 3DS homebrew), but I don't know where the changelog is, so I have no idea what's new.

DSx86 works great for a lot of games, but it would be nice to be able to play them at native screen res, and I think that dev gave up on his 3DS port.

Question: Using the .cia version of RetroArch, can I make it so a Home Menu icon doesn't show up for every core I load?

This question has probably been asked a million times but do any of the cores (mainly Genesis/Master System/SNES/NES ) support multiplayer? I know genesis and nes injects might support it.

I'm getting regular stutters when rewind id enabled on picodrive while playing sega cd games. Is there a way to set it up to avoid this? Or is this an inherent problem with retroarch? The stutters happen for a very brief moment. The rest of the time the game runs at 60fps.

Did you transfer the retroarch folder to the root of your sd card?

I believe that's normal. I'm pretty sure rewind takes up more resources. In previous Retroarch versions having it on made a lot of cores nearly unplayable.

Well, either way I was able to find settings that worked well. I think I put granulation at a high number and the cache at 10 or something. No more stutters.

Also I noticed that saving states and loading takes a pretty long time. Is there anything I could do to make this quicker? My sd card should be a type 10 uhs3 if I'm not mistaken.

Because of the 3DS filesystem encryption, no matter how fast of an SD card you have everything gets slowed down to about a Class 2 speed MicroSD.

I'm not finding the core for CATSFC anywhere in the downloads for 3ds.
It was renamed a few years ago to Snes9x 2005. I'd recommend using bubble2k16's 3DS port instead, though, since it's based off the same version of the emulator and performs much better than the libretro core.
