Hey there,

Could someone advise me on what the latest compatible flashcart is that would be compatible with Pokemon D/P/P/HG/SS connecting to Pokemon Battle Revolution on Nintendo Wii? Also, could you tell me what supplier to get that card from?

I recently bought an R4i Gold Pro from nds-card. I was told that flashcart should be compatible... but it wasn't, all I got was a white screen and was never able to connect to the Wii.

It's possible that your flashcart's not faulty at all. The white screen may be due to a non-formatted Micro SD card.

Do you have homebrew on your Wii? If that's not the case, I'm sorry to inform you that since May 20, 2014, all online play features incorporated into Wii and DS games are no longer available without homebrew. The shutdown of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection is connected to the shutdown of multiplayer services by GameSpy, who was acquired by Glu Mobile in 2012.

here's the link for the flashcard's FAQ: http://www.r4isdhc.com/r4-fa/

Non-formatted Micro SD card? The flashcart loads though, as well as the game. I am able to play them. Is there a specific alternative format other than fat32 I should have used when setting the flashcart up?

Yes my Wii has been modded, it has the homebrew channel and I run Pokemon Battle Revolution from USBLoader GX.

The Copy Pokemon function still works as I have managed to test it with a genuine Pokemon Pearl cartridge. But I would still love to use this function with HeartGold/SoulSilver through a flashcart.

Also, I have no interest at all in using actual online/multiplayer functions, if thats what you thought I intended instead. Even if they weren't shut down for such a long time now, I still wouldn't use them.

Some flashcards do indeed not handle Wii connection correctly. Most R4/i cards don't in my experience. My Acekard 2i handles PBR and Pokemon Ranch perfectly, it's one of the only cards I know of that does. I think the CycloDS boasted that as well, but it's a hideously obsolete card at this point. If you can get your hands on a Acekard 2i, it's still a solid flashcard, I recommend it.

Thanks for the names, they are the only other ones also that I've come across in my search that features Wii connectivity.

Having looked at 'The BIG DS Flashcart F.A.Q Thread' on this website it recommended the R4i Gold Plus (r4ids.cn). It said it uses the Wood R4 kernel and has most of the features from AkAIO (So basically almost like the Acekart you recommended). It never specifically mentions Wii Connectivity, but I am hoping it is one of the many features included. The AkAIO page it links off to mentions it though. I've bought one... But that China Post is gonna take a lifetime to reach me...

The only problem with both the CycloDS and the Acekart for me is that they require CFW to work on my DSi XL. Plus, my DSi XL is on the latest version and I cant use any of the current exploits to install any CFW onto my device at the moment. I think the CycloDS is only compatible with the original DS. It seems however the R4i Gold Plus is the only one compatible with my model and has possible Wii connectivity.

I want to finish this by saying... I'm VERY happy. I ended up buying the R4i Gold Plus (r4ids.cn) and I got it yesterday... After almost two weeks delivery from China :\. So I immediately tried using SoulSilver with Pokemon Battle Revolution, AND IT WORKS! YESSSS!
