Released new template file to create the forwarders that supports the bootsrtap version 0.17.0 (currently latest). All the info have been added in the main post. If you have old forwarders, you'll have to recreate them.

Also this newer version, allows to select a separate path for the saves, you can change it by keeping A pressed when booting the forwarder.

I'm new at this, which bootstrap file is it? I have TWiLight Menu and there are several bootstrap files in the nds folder.

I tried to forward Mario Kart DS, I get the icon in the menu but the game won't boot? Tried various bootstrap files.

Yeah, just to heads up, the .nds version has never recieved an update and the PC version always crashed on me. I prefer having a .nds version for this, and I believe everything needs to be updated again because many modifications have been made to the nds-bootstrap.

The .nds version was never updated because for what it's doing it's OK, what I updated (iirc it was with the 0.17.0 bootstrap) was the template.nds file that's actually the dsiware used as forwarder https://github.com/edo9300/Rungame-template/releases. If you already updated it and recreated the files, then I'll check what changed when I find free time. Also, for the PC app, how does it exactly crash? (Even if I recomment using the dsi app as it's easier to use)

Can someone help me get this tool to work, when I use the Windows version of this tool it creates the title no problem, so I copy the title folder to the root of my SD card and it merges with the title folder that's already there, then I load up my SD NAND and see the game's forwarder so I launch it and provide the target rom and the nds-bootstrap file that comes with TWiLightMenu++ and then it just freezes at a white screen and doesn't work. I've also tried using the DSiWare version of the tool and the same thing happens.

Edit: Nevermind, I just tried another time and it seems to be working no problem, the only thing I need to worry about is the game compatibility with nds-bootstrap.

If I create a forwarder with the dsi version of the forwarder maker the screen stays white when booting up a game.
I had this same problem too, what I did was just use the Windows version of the program and use the nightly build of nds-bootstrap and it worked no problem except for a few games.

Yes, that's because I said that everthing works fine when using the PC version. Edit: I don't even have to use the nightly build of nds-bootstrap. The stable one also works.

The dsi version doesn't see my save.
It makes a sav file but no inside saves folder.
Hmm I'm sure i added the possibility to choose the save location after the update of twilight changing the save location, there's a menu in the forwarder that can be accessed by keeping a pressed on boot, that should have the option.

Edit: apparently in haven't out that in the main post, I bet nobody knew that then

The DS version needs to be updated, it's not compatible with the latest nds-bootstrap. Other then that, it's an amazing tool, I agree!
:( I'll give it a look when I have time, (I made this app as "durable" as possible, in fact it worked for various versions xD)

Thanks a lot for your work!
I've not still tested windows version.

I get a light cracking(?) sound when I launch Animal Crossing using your forwader in Hitacfw menu but it runs well.
Same happens using Last rom Twilight menu icon in Hiyacfw menu.
