new zelda works on 8.0.1, i can confirm that. there comes no "update available" message when you start it on 8.0.1 in airplane mode.

i never said the frame drops had something to do with sx os ;)
Frame drop mostly coming from change map or area because it had to load a bunch of data and special area title effect really something hold back. they needed to update to cut off some effect or frames

Stop worries about those mounts about sxos is bad. They are just another xxxxphobie. To get sxos work they had to fix all their apps and compatible with every function. It is a hard job to compare with other they just let you boost the device but those apps had to fix by another developers otherwise you are doomed.

Stay stun and wait. otherwise use sx installer with master code to get things work

frame drops has nothing to do with sx os

good god
he never said it was
what he said was "the new zelda works just fine on 8.1 sx 2.8 but has frame drops in some parts"
what he meant was he used sx 2.8 with fw 8.1. And that the game has some frame drops which actually has been reported by some others.
Why do people get so defensive with preferred CFW?

Sad isn’t it when people shit all over others because they use a different firmware. The frame drops are due to piss poor coding, it’s doing a good job of highlighting how weak and underpowered Nintendo’s toy is. This is also why Nintendo have embargoes on reviews. They don’t want nasty things being said about their games.

That being said it is a cracking game and hopefully a patch will fix its issues :)

Expect the updates for SX continue to slow as FOSS becomes not only better (I think in many ways it already is) but easier to use as well.

My suggestion to everyone is to stop waiting and use this as an opportunity to switch to Atmosphere. I was too lazy to switch but not being able to access my emunand pushed me.

Emunand was the only reason I went with SX (and getting it for free) but the partition based emuMMC is right there performance-wise and it's nice to run code that can be trusted.

There is no need to switch, boot can run on the same system. Sx OS has some handy things like using exfat pendrives on a fat32 system.

Slow updates seems like a reason to me... It's a matter of taste, really.
I have no use for large "files" on external media but if you're into that sort of stuff SX certainly has more features catering to such things.

I'd like to have support for 9.0 just so that I can access the eshop on the standard OS and get some recent good stuff like Sayonara and Goose... disappointing that the only one paid CFW is so slow in updating or even just letting people know when they expect to make a new release.

You can update SysNAND to 9.0.0 and keep EmuNAND on 8.1.0. Keep in mind that you can't use the gc slot on EmuNAND anymore after you have updated SysNAND to 9.0.0.

As frustrating as the wait for SX OS 9.0.0 support is and lack of progress update (although I do hear it is being worked on along with some new features), especially after their quick turnaround for 8.1.0, I'm still unaware of a reason why it's necessary to be on the latest firmware unless you're looking for the features it provides so to me it's just a matter of being patient.

I mean no games require it at present and for eshop access you would install 9.0.0 to your sysnand and keep emunand offline on 8.1.0

But yeah, it's kind of annoying to not have any ETAs etc for a paid solution whilst the free alternatives have supported it for a while now.
