The only Wii U games I have are on disc, which all work fine.

Its possibly your hard drive. Are you using a ycable or does it plug into wall? If not it doesnt have enough power to work on Wii U and that would be the cause of the crashes.

Try to install to internal if it works its a hard drive issue.

It's a USB stick. I did try moving a wii game to the internal system and the issue persisted. When I tried playing the game from my disc, it surprisingly also shutdown abruptly, but only once over a two-hour session, as opposed to every 5min or so from the vc injection. Maybe that crash was due to loading from a save created by the vc inject version?

Haven't tried to move a gamecube game to internal yet.

Don't use a usb stick. Invest in an external hard drive. I'm speaking from experience a usb stick will die sooner or later (probably within 1 year) and all your games and all the saves on them will be gone. You can backup the saves but not the games.

It seems to be the go to thing for people who start out to use flash drives, but they are not made for games. They are made to store basic files like documents. So eventually they will die. They're just not made to do what you want them to do. Only an external hard drive with a y-cable or plug into wall has the power to hold games for years or decades which I assume you want as opposed to knowing a flash drive will die on you one day. Trust me it will.

Tried a few wii/gc injects with this tool, all of them appear to work fine at first, but then crash after ~5mins of running. Wii titles just shut down the system but GC titles show a generic "error has occurred" message forcing me to shutdown. Anyone else experience this?

Hi! I have the same problem. I writed before

Hi all! Please help. Sorry for bad english. Problem making me crazy by a few weaks. I have wiiu, haxchi, hdd 1tb Y cabel. Wiiu injects work fine. I wanted to play the old game from wii and cube, dowload injection games, make myself by teconmoon. they install fine, but when start the game wiiu freeze(black screen, after going wii, in title games, or give a play a few minutes and freeze). Wiiu freeze and i must unplug a power cabel. The Last Story game let me play about 1 hour an error occured "An error occured during the process of reading from or writing to the Wii system Memory." and after that this game will open with this error always, reinstall game dont fix it. Interesting to understand what wrong whis my console and inject wii and gc.
What i try to do:
1) Install games on NAND, the same.
2)Turn off hdd sleep on usb.
3) Make different inject.
4)Change hdd.

Try vWii hack, the same problem, game freezing.

I did not solve this problem

I did not solve this problem

I have a similar issue except mine won’t inject at all, it keeps crashing at nfs point? I haven’t a clue & I’ve gotten myself so confused now as this has been going on a couple of weeks & it’s driving me mad lol

I just don’t have a clue what to do anymore as I’m so confused but I think it’s becauase I’m trying to enter that title ID what it states in the GC bit when it’s actual retail games I have but can someone help me out here please thanks

Hmm ok, both Wii and GC games that I moved to nand seem to be going fine now. Guess the USB stick was the culprit after all. I will grab an external sometime.

That seems like a computer issue to me. Check your antivirus and Windows Defender.

Also go to your Temp folder under your username and delete WiivCInjector folder while it's running and retry.

Oh you're on Mac? Might be why IDK I've never used a Mac ever. It's really something you should come out and say because I believe this program was made with Windows in mind and that could be the problem.

I don't know what you mean by entering title ids for Gamecube injects you don't have to do that. I've injected probably 80 or so Gamecube injects and never entered any title id so I don't know where you're getting that you need to. Bottom line your issue is probably Mac related.

Hello All. I'm a bit of a noob, but I'm really excited about this program. Now, I'm not a total noob - I did install homebrew on my original Wii and also my WiiU. Currently, I use USBLoaderGX to boot up Wii and GC games on vWii. But my biggest thing is I don't want to have to use 2 separate hard drives when I get to the point where I am backing up WiiU games. It sounds like with this program you can put all games on the same hard drive. Is this correct?

Also - at one point I didn't think you could use gamecube controllers when using this program, but after reading through several pages of this thread it looks you can indeed use gamecube controllers with the WiiU adapter. Is this correct?

Is it possible to use this inject method to install Wii games on the WiiU menu, but continue to use USBLoaderGX on the vWii to run GC games? Or is that when I will run into the issue of needing 2 separate hard drives?

Thank you for your consideration on these questions! I'm sure I'll have more soon as I start to dig in!

Yes the only way this works is to install games on the same hard drive as your Wii U games.

You can use gamecube controllers for gamecube games, very few Wii games work with it.

You technically could use this and USBLoaderGX by putting gamecube games on your sd card. But why not just inject Gamecube games too? Then all your games will be on the Wii U menu you won't have to boot into vWii at all, and you could use the gamepad or other controllers.

Especially with CBHC you simply select the game you want from the menu without having to run any exploit or reboot into vWii wii menu first.
The only downside is that nintendont doesn't save your settings anymore when you manually launch it from vwii as you can't access the encrypted wiiu hdd from vwii and it needs to launch a game before saving.

You can just open this injector and download the cfg and put whatever settings you want then put it on your sd card.

@EmulateLife I know, I must have forgotten that while writing, hehe.
Fix94 added a new option for BBA emulation though, which can't be set with the current configurator as the creator of the wii vc injector wasn't active for over a year on this forum so it might take some time for it to be included.

That’s great news - just one hard drive!

Also great news about GC controllers!

The reason I was asking about GC off of GX was to just have to do less injects. Also - my kids aren’t really interested in GC games so I was thinking of having the vWii as my little corner for GC games. Same goes for a few Wii games I wouldn’t want them playing.

I am not 100% sure if USBLoaderGX works with Wii games off sd card, I think I did it once on the original Wii, but never on the Wii U. Otherwise you'd have to have two hard drives one for vWii one for Wii U.

I hear ya - my goal is to just move towards all injects. OK - I'm about to embark on settings this all up. Any major tips before I get started?

Also - I saw that I'll need a Y-cable for my external HD. Is it fine to use a Y-cable with any external HD? I'm a bit clueless there and just want to make sure I won't damage my HD by using a Y-cable... if that's even possible.

Just about any hdd should work, y cable won't damage it. All it does it just plugs into two ports instead of one to give the hard drive more power which the Wii U requires. I've been using one for several years no problems.

EmulateLife - you are insanely helpful! I downloaded the .zip file. I was expecting a "how to" file of some sort. Are there step by step instructions available somewhere? Here is where I currently stand: My WiiU and vWii have Homebrew Channel installed. I have backups of my Wii wbfs and GC iso games. I have a 1TB hard drive. And I just downloaded the WiiVC Injector exe file.

Nope, I'm using a mini USB stick (Sandisk Cruzer Fit) for almost 5 years without issues (although I acquired it exclusively for using with the Wii U).
These errors you talk about are caused either by defects or incompatibility, which can also happen with HDDs.
It's not like the Wii U writes multiple gigabytes of data everyday to the drive... It barely writes a little of save data.

Hello again. I just watched a YT video that said you have to launch Haxchi or Mocha every time before you go to launch an inject. Is this the only way to do it or is there a way to not have to do that every time you want to boot up an inject? Thanks!!
