Hello ill make this list format!
1. This is the guide I followed to install linux (https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-linux-for-the-3ds.407187/) I was wondering if theirs any newer versions and where I can get them if so (its a 2015 post is why i asked)
2. Can I run distros (lightweight ones) with this such as DSL (Damn small linux)
3. any other tips and tricks or things I can do with this?

2. You cannot run any Linux Distros. This Linux had a Desktop Environment (Weston) but was removed.

3. Nothing. It's pretty much useless

EXT4 is the ext4 journaling file system or fourth extended filesystem which is primarily used by Linux. Be it a file or partition it's your storage medium for the operating system.
